Country / Alt-Country / Roots / Americana

I have thought about it. I mean just going to see Nickel Creek in an outdoor venue is still a little heebie jeebie to me.

I understand what you are saying. Lot of factors in play especially for people with small children. Our kids are 7 and 10 and they have had Covid at least once. I want to go to see them in Nashville but I already had bought tickets to Josh Ritter and Adeem The Artist at the Ryman on the same night.

So I really like the New Nickel Creek, it’s not their best. I’d have to think about ranking before I could rank it.

That being said, there is a problem with it. The problem is Thile. It is becoming clearer with each new project that everything is just Thile and friends at this point, whether is Punch Brothers or Nickel Creek or something else. It’s not a bad thing, because I love him dearly, but I don’t listen to Nickel Creek to listen to Punch Brothers except with the Watkins…. If that makes sense. A Dotted Line (hell, Fire, too) pointed to this trend. Like I said it’s not the end of the world, I love his music, but it would just be nice to get that collaborative feel. He’s always the biggest voice in whatever room he’s in.

It looks like this has been out for a bit but I just discovered it today.

I was in the car and my local Public Radio station - the outstanding www.wncw.org - played this song. I listened to the first verse and was so sucked in I had to pull over for the rest.

Digging deeper this looks to be a total emotional and physical teardown record with an ultimate healing catharsis at the end.

Another song from the record...
