Gotta be tough being a small time weed smoking country music singer performing in smaller cities in states where weed is illegal. If that bus was parked illegally in Tacoma the cops wouldn’t have checked on it even it the bus was on fire, bellowing weed smoke.

Yeah, the south is a joke. We ban everything down here, except guns and fried food. I live west of Nashville and their are drug interdiction cops who sit on the interstate all day looking for out of state plates trying to catch drug dealers.

I'll say this about Paul, but he seems to a pretty hard right winger based on the gun thing. These drug laws are laws that Republicans love, so there is that. Not sure how he votes, but i can tell you he is no fan of Biden.

The track list for the Joshua Ray Walker album is super intriguing but I’m a sucker for covers albums.

Side A :
Cuz I Love You / Linger / I Wanna Dance With Somebody / Believe / Cheap Thrills / Blue

Side B :
Goodbye Horses / Nothing Compares 2 U / Joshua / Halo / Samson

I can’t wait to hear him cover Regina Spektor.

Nice to see Kassi Valazza featured in Bandcamp's Best Country rundown for May, but there are some other gems in here as well. Check out the really excellent solo debut from Dean Johnson (also in Sons of Rainier), and the Doc Watson tribute I Am a Pilgrim is fantastic – with an all-star cast that ranges from Dolly Parton to Jeff Parker to Yasmin Williams.

Is there a way to subscribe so that I get this list in my inbox every month?

Man, there must be, given that I do receive it – but unfortunately, I couldn't tell you how to go about doing it.

So the Dean Johnson release is like 13 years in the making. I just checked, and there are still 61 copies of the "My Trusty Horse Blue" variant (out of 1000) still available.

From Mama Bird's promo: ‘Nothing for Me, Please’ is nine songs of heartache, waltzing shadows, toxic admissions, torched poetry, and existential musings. It was recorded live in a barren living room in New Orleans with no microphone separation. There is a sonic quality of a smoldering fire.

Don't sleep on this one friends.
