Great list but the “Alt.” in Alt. Country is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here, isn’t it? I feel like, at least a quarter of the list; wouldn’t be filed under the “Alt. Country genre in my imaginary record store.
I mean Alt. Country in general does a lot of lifting.
Alt. Country seems to mean that there was at least one banjo, fiddle, and/or steel guitar included somewhere on the album.
I WILL have a stroke or something, please god no.
Or a twang or mention of a pick up truck or mention of the south... etc
Right! Same goes for “Americana”, Country music for people who think they don’t like Country music.
I can’t recommend this album enough, definitely blues side of Americana. It’s so good.
