Gavin Harrison really shines on this one. I'm trying to listen to it quietly to not wake up my wife cause she's not feeling good but the urge to crank it up is strong 🔥

Ha! Baby-induced time distortion is realer than I thought! In my mind I only posted about the re-up a couple of days ago and therefore you must have had this from before, and since you've such great taste in general I didn't question that reality! 😂

I feel silly. But also so thrilled and happy a bunch of y'all are digging Musk Ox as well! 💜

Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things
Maybe another strange choice because this album does not feature a live drummer. But regardless, I always found the drums in this album fascinating. He's primarily a bassist but he programs drums that sounds simultaneously like drum & bass music, dub, and live jazz drums. He's mentioned his drum programming in this album are influenced by Buddy Rich and I can see that

Julie Byrne – Not Even Happiness
This is probably the most spun album in my collection, I listen at least 4-5 times a week.
Julie's voice is such a calming presence for me, and always a great way to start my day.

That is 11 and ideally we would have 12. If anyone here would be interested in putting a challenge together at some point next year please reply ASAP. I am going to put together the list here shortly. If we have 2 people interested, I would be happy to step aside.

Also, if any of the current volunteers would like to put together the January bid please let me know so you can have ample time to put together a fun challenge to kick off the new year.

My birthday is in February, so I'd love to go then, but truly I'm happy to do any month. Even January if no one else is super keen.

Wali & His Afro Caravan "Home Lost & Found (The Natural Sound)" (1970 Solid State)
Going back to some of my deep African cuts for this challenge. This vintage copy is surprisingly pretty quiet, which suits the sparse percussion arrangements. I'm adding some sample highlights if you're interested.
