Nirvana - Bleach
Debate can be had about which Nirvana album is their masterpiece. (I'm inclined to believe it's the one on my turntable at the time). These days I tend to play their live stuff most so the Portland gig on this pressing is mighty welcome.

I hardly ever preorder an album based on a single especially for a band I am totally unfamiliar with, but Starburster off this caught my ear from the first time i heard it, and I jumped on the initial 'first pressing' release. Glad I did, the rest of the album is just as solid and has been a great bonding point and rabbit hole with myself and the 17 year old.

The Deluxe Edition is fantastic. There was a rash of colored vinyl pressings of this one and if someone enjoys pretty colors then more power to em but this version could be had for like $24 and it came on heavy vinyl pressed at RTI with a beautiful gatefold jacket AND a killer live show bonus disc. It seems like a no brainer.

Incidentally one of my favourite live Sun Ra albums is at the same venue two years before the Nirvana show.
