Interesting to see MoFi go for country. I wonder if that's a genre pivot they'll explore some more given the exhaustion of classic rock in their catalog.
Stardust exists already too.

I guess I meant more contemporary or beyond the universal artists that general collectors would probably grab even if it’s country. I can see their usual fanbase grabbing Willie or Johnny, especially Johnny, out of a universal appreciation or the associated link to rock. Randy is a different test. They did Johnny Cash not too long ago too. I think they will just do whatever titles they can try to get that are somewhat popular. I know the next few apparently are Ravi Shankar Family & Friends and I think two Warren Zevon titles?
Hoping they do more genres though for sure and vary their releases a bit. Not counting on it though.
Quite possibly the most out of touch label on this planet.Few more Mofi's just popped up back in stock.
Randy Travis - Storms of Life

Foghat - Fool for the City
We hear a lot of yearning today about the good-old, glory days of rock and roll, the simple kind that just locked into a good beat, turned out a raunchy groove, and simply kicked you in the butt. The no-pretense type meant for kicking back, letting loose, and surrendering to the melody...mofi.com
Foreigner - Double Vision
Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, our collectible audiophile 180g LP of this longtime favorite classic-rock staple bursts with tremendous dynamics, soaring vocal timbres, bottom-end punch, and newfound instrumental separation. Sure, you may have heard songs such as "Double...mofi.com
I'd argue they are very much in touch with their regular customers. These titles selling out pretty quickly in the past kinda shows that. They haven't adjusted to new customers at all or tried to expand their base though.Quite possibly the most out of touch label on this planet.
They know their customers well, but they are dying out quickly and not being replacedI'd argue they are very much in touch with their regular customers. They haven't adjusted to new customers at all or tried to expand their base though.

They have shown that they can make DSD sound great, so there's really no reason not to do more modern releases now outside of them being afraid that their die hard fan base won't buy them. But the prices on Beck and some of the other modern releases should show them that they can sell them very well if they just choose wisely. They know their customers well, but they are dying out quickly and not being replaced
Beck's Sea Change is 20 years old now. Guess that's what is considered "modern" by MoFI standards. They have shown that they can make DSD sound great, so there's really no reason not to do more modern releases now outside of them being afraid that their die hard fan base won't buy them. I'd call him a more modern artist still. There are a bunch of great albums recorded on tape in the past 20 years and if they are gonna do DSD sources through analogue console, no reason not to consider other newer albums too.Beck's Sea Change is 20 years old now. I mean who drives a VW Bus anymore? They know their customers well, but they are dying out quickly and not being replaced
They all moved out here. VW Bus/Van culture is alive and well in the Pac NW.I mean who drives a VW Bus anymore?
Which pressing you get?Got a NM japanese The Wall at a price I'm happy with... pleased with this copy and this thing does sound pretty damn great.
Which pressing you get?
I have a 79 Japan press. It’s killer.The 1979 1st pressing I believe.
Where did you buy? The Wall is one of my favorite albums and I've been obsessing over it (again) since seeing Roger Waters perform two weeks ago. I have the modern BG remaster and an older 79 US press but they're both kinda noisy. Definitely could splurge on a clean Japanese press with an obi.The 1979 1st pressing I believe.

Yeah Ella is good with their identification. If they had it listed as this copy, it likely is. I got my first from there as well.Mine had a different matrix but there seems to be a lot of variants for this pressing (the catalogue number part of the matrix is all the same but I guess there were different numbers for different plates maybe?). I just entered the matrix of mine into Discogs.
