Definitive Audiophile pressings

Definitely in the running for my album of the year.

For those hunting, it's still available direct through eremite for $44 + shipping – surely the best way to support the label.

On a related note, eremite just re-pressed Parker's Slight Freedom – originally recorded back in 2013-14, and also essential – so you could double up on shipping:
Is it just me or is shipping $20? It was $40 when I had both in my cart 😭

Really nice recording and pressing, and the music manages to be both super chill but also interesting, not pure background music. Caveat to the recording is that it’s live in a very small bar, and there are clinking plates and glasses at different times throughout, but it’s still a great recording to me, and I like the atmosphere. One of the tracks is streaming on youtube and bandcamp if anyone wants to hear it.

I picked this up this weekend locally at the full retail price ($55). I almost bought the last Forced Exposure copy this wknd bc it was $44 there, I think. Innersleeve still has a copy for $47 (w/ free shipping). I knew all that before spending more $ bc I wanted to support a local store, especially if they’re gonna carry smaller label stuff.

As intimated above by Kafunis, there are two versions of this. N. America is Eremite/RTI/KG. The European is Aguirre label (with Eremite). Not sure of pressing plant, and Discogs says lacquers by KG.
I think the Europe pressing was done at Optimal.

Only digital on Bandcamp, yeah? Gonna have to buy this one on next month’s Bandcamp Friday.

Also on an unrelated note - reaaaaalllly wish Bandcamp would step up to lossless streaming. I’ve messaged them about it!
I just bought a TB card for my DAP and have been downloading FLACs off Bandcamp at work, but even that fills up way too fast. I'd rather pay them a monthly subscription fee for lossless streaming than any of the other services, but I'm not sure if it's something the artists would want or not. I don't know how many digital sales they get that it would cut into.

OOOO Thriller!

Ah... good to see the high Mofi QC standards are still hard at work.

Coooool, cool cool cool cool cool...

These scribble scratches are the worst. They're always audible. Loudly too. Bane of my existence over the last 2 years or so. I haven't had any from MOFI, but it seems like absolutely everyone is a culprit, especially when using paper sleeves (again, surprised with MOFI because of the rice paper inners). Maybe my assumption that they come from debris in the sleeve is wrong and they occur at the plants?

But let me scream with you.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

Yep, I will get it sorted one way or another but what a pain.

Or not even that far, a la Qobuz. Just the albums that you own, it would be lovely to just be able to steam them in CD quality if nothing else! The fact that it’s a VBR mp3, it’s a bummer.

Any of y'all have the recent repress of Cure Disintegration? I think it's pressed at TAKT in Poland. Any thoughts?

I only have the earlier GZ of that one, and it’s great, but the only pressing I have from TAKT sounds like shit, it’s awful, riddled with fuzz. It’s Dexys so the music is lively enough to cover it but run in, run out and between songs sounds horrific.

Did you ever get the Loveless you ordered that time?
