Definitive Audiophile pressings

Yeah I've got a real motley cart going on right now. Considering I really don't know how good some of these are gonna be. Diamond Dogs, Beggars Banquet, Closing Time and Some Girls. I can't get all of them and I really only have heard that the two Stones are definitely good... DECISIONS

Some Girls is exceptional. That should definitely be a keeper.

I really like the OG Some Girls with the uncensored die-cut cover. The Beggars Banquet I have is good, and definitely acceptable, but not amazing if you know what I mean.

If it helps any, the Some Girls JP uses the original Sterling plates, so you get the best of all worlds with that pressing.

The EAS ESS series Stones are all quite good IMO. Maybe Goats Head Soup is a little more raw than the others I have, but it's not the best sounding to begin with and still sounds about as good as I heard it. EAS ESS Some Girls, Black & Blue, Emotional Rescue and Sticky Fingers are all really great. Those are late 70's press. Beggars Banquet is on London Records so it's not from that series and it's a little weaker, but still decent.

You mean ESS yes? I think EAS is Beatles..

The other Stones I have is It's Only Rock & Roll and it's the 1975 and not from the ESS series. It's about like the Beggars Banquet I have. It's good, but doesn't rise to the level of the ESS pressings I have.
