Definitive Audiophile pressings

I'm going to give them a little more time and just listen to one of the other 1000 records in my home. In 2023, I'm gonna be more patient. :)
You're right, patience is good.
Good idea.
The world would be a better place if everyone just had a bit more patience.

I know some people are having a bad day with IASW.

My 71 pressing sounds amazing. I don't have the Mofi to compare but it's stellar if anyone wants to tell MD to eat shit and take a different route. I don't think they would be disappointed at all.

I do have that one as well, which will do for the time being.

But I did do a comparison in real-time using my setup with two of the same tables and the MoFi is much, much better. It sounds that good (minus the pressing issues!)

@Jbraswell didn't believe me when i said the MoFi is better than early pressings 😂
It took me all of 1 minute of switching back and forth between them to call it. 71 reissue doesn’t sound bad by any means, but the MoFo is really clear and detailed. On that particular style of jazz, it really stands out.

MoFI In A Silent Way and Jack Johnson are clear winners for me over vintage copies, though I love my vintage Jack Johnson, it is definitely staying. I don't think I'll ever play my vintage IASW again though, the Mofi slam dunks on it. I didn't have any distortion issues on mine either thankfully.

I am not disappointed at all with my copy. It was too easy to include with the Newk's bundle.
haha i know. the earlier pressings don't sound bad. just teasing ya. for $40 (if you get a clean one) the MoFi of this title is great IMO.
I did read several others that felt the Columbia sounded better so it's like anything... All perspective.
yep. systems and ears definitely play a role. and preferences. lots of people have hate boners for MoFi too though especially now so that can color judgement sometimes. if you're happy with your copy that's all that matters! i probably didn't need to upgrade the IASW I had but am glad i have the MoFi. i don't think i would have paid the crazy resale prices on it but glad it's back in print. hopefully people get replacement copies if they had issues.
