Oh I agree to an extent. I love the evolution of language and linguistics. The etymology of words is fascinating. I don’t think people should be punished or ridiculed for saying the wrong thing but I also think there is value in being able to communicate succinctly and being understood. Being redundant or using the wrong pluralism isn’t gonna effect people’s understanding of what’s being communicated but it is also not communicating as efficiently as someone could. Ultimately, the issue big issue with Vinyl/Vinyls is is more to do with the Gatekeeping nature of it all.
Also, if anyone here is interested in words I recommend checking out the books by Etymologist, Mark Forsyth, the history of words is fun and interesting.
