This pressing rules. I really like Speakers Corner and have been tracking some down lately. This one was on this thread's radar a couple of weeks back; ordered from Germany and received today. (Nice that the important info is right there on the sticker.)

Hahaha! I will!!! But I've gotten into this terrible habit of wanting to clean records before playing them on my new turntable. Stupid and time consuming!Play it!!!!!

That is an awesome pressing! Think I’m going to have to dig it out next actually...
I have SC's Herbie Hancock - "Crossings" and Mingus "Mingus at Antibes". Both phenomenal, particularly Crossings, which is nothing short of a revelation compared to my old OG copy. This pressing rules. I really like Speakers Corner and have been tracking some down lately.
Agreed! Listened to that last night and it’s fantastic. Love the liner notes as well. What a crazy time, and so many of those acts at the time had battles with their labels. But the music is the key! Also that recent repress of Lola. Every time I listen to it, it sounds better!
Damn. Listening now and even in the face of high expectations (thanks, guys), it’s stunning. These records with totally quiet backgrounds allow for a kind of listening experience that’s really unique. Perfect Day is kind of mind blowing. Each part seems to have its own uncontaminated space. Lou’s voice is crystal clear, front-and-center. The piano sounds, well, like a piano that’s in the room. Beautiful. And even the sleeve is top-notch with what seems like paper with a poly liner. So glad you all provided my excuse for buying this!Play it!!!!!
Can find it somewhat easily internationally. It's pretty hard to find in-stock Speakers Corner albums in the US lately.Where are you finding the Lou Reed? I haven’t been able to find a copy and have been looking since before Christmas.
A few SP available at Acoustic Sound (Mingus, Davis, Hancock...) Not Lou Reed though.Where are you finding the Lou Reed? I haven’t been able to find a copy and have been looking since before Christmas.
Weirdly, I think they are cheaper even with shipping from JPC. I just ordered 3 SC pressings for a little under $100 USD shipped. They are $35 each at Acoustic Sounds. Shoutout to @Russ I for the tip!A few SP available at Acoustic Sound (Mingus, Davis, Hancock...) Not Lou Reed though.
