Definitive Audiophile pressings

Is breakfast bacon a thing? I thought it was just bacon? Different cuts and levels of smokes for sure but the idea that there is a specific 5am to 9.30am bacon is mind blowing to me!
Haha I just mean bacon for breakfast. Sometimes I like a good streaky bacon with breakfast (usually when I'm hungover). Other times I prefer rashers.

I used to live near this greasy spoon diner in Queens. For breakfast on the weekends you could get the Lumberjack special, which was:

*Short stack of pancakes
*3 fried eggs
*4 stripe of streaky bacon
*Sausage
*Homefries
*Toast
*And a coffee or tea

All for $6. It was our go-to for hungover sunday breakfast with my friends.

My ideal breakfast is the following

3 rashers of thickly sliced smoked Bacon
2 good quality high %age pork sausages from the butcher.
2 poached eggs
Black and White Puddings
Potato Farls
Good thickly sliced toast from a nice sourdough
Proper Butter
A full teapot

And a bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup

Sausage, fried eggs, black pudding and, if you're in Joe's neck of the woods, white pudding, grilled tomotoes, toast (or fried bread if you're a lunatic) and a vat of tea and or coffee. Hash browns are also acceptable... Beans are never acceptable.

Yes agreed on beans, that’s just wrong! I’ll accept mushrooms but wouldn’t want myself.

If I’m visiting the family in Scotland there’s usually some square slice sausage and fried scotch dumpling in the mix too!

The thing I hate about my dietary requirements is that its made sausages a bit of a running the gauntlet situation so I can only buy where the butchers can tell me what's actually in them. Obviously onion and garlic are common but loads use whey too.... The bastards

And brown sauce is out for me too

Eugh! That’s a pain! I have a really good butcher nearby that makes a sausage that’s only minced pork (with a bit of salt and pepper) and uses the traditional intestine as skin! They’re fantastic!

Glad to hear beans aren't as ubiquitous over that way as we're led to believe. Everything you guys have listed sounds delicious. Those sorts of beans have always sounded unappealing to me for breakfast.

It depends. It’s one of those things that’s probably always an option at café in Britain but it isn’t necessarily what a purist would call part of a proper fry up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it offered in Ireland other than in the crappy U.K. chain pubs that have started to pop up over here now too. I do love my beans on toast but I don’t think it works as part of a fry!

I honestly think that's all the world needs. No one was asking for a curried chicken sausage. We were getting by fine without them. Pork or beef with absolutely judged basic seasoning and your days off to the perfect start

So you're saying you won't buy every VMP release ever anymore? ;)

I think your plan is a good one though. Save up and buy very good sounding pressings of albums you TRULY love.
Well....the Classics ROTM’s are audiophile quality and a lot of the Essentials ROTM are close to audiophile quality too, so there’s that. Been loving some of the AAA store exclusives VMP have been dropping too, like the John Lee Hooker exclusives and cannot wait to spin that Galt MacDermot and Donna Summer AAA VMP pressings too!

But yes, I’ll be definitely cutting back on new releases! Happy that Aaron Frazer’s new album was cut by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound though! Apparently the pressing sounds great!

Coffee and croissant! Brioche if I'm feeling fancy. Savory is just not for me for breakfast. Only if I'm hungovered and then it's more a brunch.
