Definitive Audiophile pressings

This is definitely something I wouldn't normally complain about. But is it something I should be complaining about?

I don't have the AP but love that Ella and Louis album.

I definitely went over budget in Jan. I got a package on order from Acoustic Sounds as well with Johnny Hodges Blues Party & Dylan Times they are a changing (MoFI mono). I was getting FOMO, thinking they would go out of stock

I would. Can't hurt. Maybe they will send ya new jackets or give you a credit or something.

I have literally complained about every single package I have received from Music Direct. They will be putting me on a black list, Along with @mather the warped records magnet :)

I should really post these in fresh grabs, but it felt like an Audiophile post. In addition to the dinked package of MoFi & AP's form Music Direct I had 3 other deliveries today.

The KG T-Rex, again some seem split and & mark on the back (I've not had the best of packaging luck this week), the John Lee Hooker KG. And finally received the 2 Jimi (QRP) Family edition presses I got after seeing weeks of recommendations on this thread. Just got 'Are you experienced' & 'Ladyland' for the moment. I wanted Axis, but wasn't available. Yet to spin any but the T-Rex & Ladyland look like the whole package, mastering, pressing & great sleeves. Very impressed for the price, why aren't all records like this.

You have some real nice listening coming up! I don't have that JLH but the others are awesome. I do hope that more labels will press high quality records at a cheaper price point. BN must be making a killing with the quantity they are moving.

Exactly that. Given the effort that goes into making a record, why not make a great record. I doubt the overheads are much different.

With JLH, maybe I should have got Travellin as well. I tried to talk myself out of it, but just picked one title this time. I've no idea if it's the best of the 2 on offer.

I mean their margins are definitely less, but BN and places like Rhino make up for it in volume. Even with things like QC, I believe you can essentially pay more to the plants to get better QC. I understand why some of these smaller labels charge what they do but still good to know there are some places that can afford to press cheaper pressings and keep quality up.

How are Colemine with replacements? My Grant Green arrived with some scratches seemingly. Getting consistent clicking noises on multiple passages through out side A :/. Super bummed cause it sounds ridonkulous

Should be no problem. They have went “above and beyond” to fix issues for me when needed. Most recently they sent me the wrong rec instead of Dylan Oh Mercy. One email with pics had a replacement on the way in an hour or so. It arrived today and it had a paid preprinted return label for the mistake.

One time they sent me a damaged box set. It had a dinged corner in the outer display box and on several of the albums. As they didn’t have a replacement for it in stock so they arranged for another store who they were friendly with to drop ship direct to me a new $200 box set. After it arrived safely they emailed me a prepaid return label for the damaged one.
