Definitive Audiophile pressings

ugh...looks like I'll have to get another copy of this album.

I have a large handful of blu ray audio, but rarely listen to them, but I didn't see that this was released back in December...or maybe I just forgot about it.

The Stephen Wilson remix was really good IMO. I’ve been tempted by the Blu-ray audio but don’t have surround and listen to vinyl more

Yeah - I have his stereo mix on vinyl, but I may have to get this one of these days when I'm buying shit on Amazon (payday is Friday)

I don't have a great surround set-up, and don't have a Home Theater Amp that does Atmos.

The handful of surround mixes I do own are Steven Wilson mixes - King Crimson, Jethro Tull, and XTC - so it figures I'd pick up one he did of an album I really like.

It sounded great - I haven't listened to my original Pittman green label in a long time, so I can't compare yet. But it sounds like it should sound. Nothing is added or removed as far as I can tell.

I haven't spun the Devo yet - that is going to happen here soon, though.
Sweet. I'm hearing nothing but positive feedback on Sabbath.
I have both titles coming but it stalled 2 hrs away on Friday.
Devo feedback is pretty lite. So looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I have an original Devo and the Rhino "Start Your Ear Off Right" reissue from a few years back - both sound fine from what I can remember, but like the Sabbath, I haven't listened to them in a while.

But I think I'll get to it this afternoon - after I eat something.

I only rate Optimal as barely above GZ. So many issues with their stuff.

I haven't had any issues with them for a while, but back in 2019 I couldn't get any pressing from them without some defect.

I had to get 3 different copies of Eno's Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks just to combine the better records to make one that doesn't skip.

I've had a couple here and there have a small wave, but haven't had a bump like this in a while.

Every other Blue Note Classic I've gotten since they started releasing them has been full of non-fill. And it hasn't gotten better.
The only issue I ever have with GZ is a SUPER high warp rate. Like 50% of GZ pressings are warped at least minority in my experience. The vinyl isn't as quiet as RTI vinyl or anything usually but nothing that interferes with the music. And I almost never have non-fill or off center issues with GZ like I do United or old Rainbo presses or Optimal since 2019

I'd say 50% of GZs I get have end of side repetitive pops or crackle, not to mention the warps...

I must be the luckiest person hah. I don’t think I’ve had non-fill on any BNCs at all (yet). GZ warps are the most common issue I’ve had with records (not including anything pressed at Turd Man.)
