Definitive Audiophile pressings

Those that own this one... did you have good luck with the pressing? It seems like an album that's going to be near impossible to get clean pressing of due to how quiet it would need to be...
My copy isn't dead silent. There is some very minor surface noise. It does sound great, but I think I'm coming to terms with, for me personally, I need digital copies of ambient albums to get the most enjoyment out of them. I need a completely black background.

Cost effective

I love that Coltrane/Ellington album, but it's also recorded like shit so who the hell is paying $500 for a record that is impossible to remove some of the hottest distortion?

The race to the top for audiophile presses is getting insulting.

Wait... These are those dumb acetates from 2021 and are pressed at TMR?? HAHAHAHA NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
I read it as they are cutting the records from copy tapes on a lathe.
No mastering; straight transfers.
Or maybe I am just off base...

"In the conventional record production process, the term "Mastercut" refers to a template disc from which the pressing stamper is derived and which is destroyed in that process. But in our editions, each and every record is the original Mastercut, cut directly into a lacquer disc. Making this premium-quality component of record production widely available for the first time!

Our Mastercut Records are cut directly from completely unedited 1:1 copies of carefully selected original tapes of carefully selected sound recordings."

I believe if you look on cogs. And the dates on the Verve website. These are the acetates from 2021. But perhaps it's a new press using some of the same copy and packaging. Not sure.

I have no idea.
Notes on cogs re Trio 64

"Cut from tape to disc SUPERSENSE, Vienna"
Media: MDC 12” Lacquer Disc
Cutting Engineer: Lukas Obwaller or Martin Diamant

Still no interest for me. These are normal high quality AS records for $25 on an average sale.

I love it when you guys talk about stuff from 2 years ago….
Very reasonably price goodies here

There was even a sale about a year ago that included them…. Knocking them down to like $450

Alrighty, someone go spelunking in audiophile classical world.
