As it just so happens I offer JUST this service for a one time low low (very high) fee. He has none. He’s self admittedly not an audio engineer and is incapable of mastering a record on his own. He was at most an eq consultant. Thats why he’s always working alongside an actual mastering engineer. Plus what he did to master tapes that were in his care is beyond belief.

I don’t care enough about this to defend him. I think I own like two “SH” etched albums. I was making an assumption based on him having a forum named after him.

I have an account over at SHF but I spend next to no time there. I didn’t realize he was such a a controversial figure…from an Engineering strand point, I was aware of his stealing original masters or some shit, Doors tapes perhaps? Anyways, I didn’t know his rep as an engineer wasn’t stellar given he was like on of the dozen or so I could name.

I actually don’t think of him as controversial from a mastering (or whatever) perspective. I thought his rep is bc he’s kind of an arrogant douche (on his own forum, at least) and the forum itself can be insane (but has also been a good resource to me when looking for specific information/suggestions).
