Got my copy today; it definitely is the MOV pressing.A possible, less-expensive alternative that appears to be of high quality:
Amazon product ASIN B006R7DWA0
This should be the Music on Vinyl pressing listed here.
I think my local may have a copy of the MoFi available for $80 + tax. If interested I could grab it for you and get it over to ya.and that gives access to newcomers to the vinyl must haves like me without the hundreds of dollar or crappy-mediocre pressing route.
Indeed. It's been discussed here previously, but, another example that happens to be both Japanese made (the recording, not the press I'm talking about here) and performed is Blow Up by Isao Suzuki trio/quartet. It's a pricey 2 LP 45rpm set, but it is a great album -- full stop -- and I don't think I have a better sounding album in my collection, which includes scattered Mofi, AP, Impex, Sam, TP, AS, and Speakers Corner. The Japanese do. They did awesome AAA reissues of Stan Getz - Sweet Rain (masterpiece) and Archie Shepp - Attica Blues (masterpiece) 15 years ago.
I picked up a great Mofi copy of Life Rich Pageant (my fav REM) on eBay for $80, which is too damn expensive but not terrible by eBay/Mofi standards. It was a splurge, but I'm happy w/ it and have no regrets.I’d also be all over any REM MOFI.
If you're not opposed to ordering from Amazon, looks like they have the Grant Green title, and with no-hassle returns, you've got nothing to lose.I would like to thank everyone for there hospitality and sharing of knowledge in this thread!
I know the BN75 reissues are looked down on mostly, I was thinking of taking shot on Street of Dreams and Let Em Roll as they are two of my favorites I would like to have on vinyl. Anyone have/had these two, or is is best to save it and hopefully wait for a good copy to pop up somewhere or wait for a BN Classic reissue (fingers crossed).
Or should I ask this in the BN thread ?

I was very close to picking this up a few years back now. Wish I had!Indeed. Yeah you might as well just buy Blow Up!, Misty, and Midnight Sugar and thank me later. Looks like all three will be in stock next week. Some of the best sounding jazz albums I have in addition to that Famous Sound comp. Not only are they fantastic sounding, but they are actually really great jazz albums too.I was very close to picking this up a few years back now. Wish I had!
I do have The Famous Sound Of Three Blind Mice Vol. 1 which is a killer set also on Impex. Sounds fantastic, one of if not the best sounding records I have.
Anyone know if this MoFi pressing is worth it? I’ve never thought it was a great sounding album in the first place.Just received a fedex shipping notice for a 2.6 lb package from Music Direct. The only thing I have on order with them is the MoFi Layla that's awaiting repress, so I'm going to guess it's that.
Edit: credit card payment pending to MD for $49.99, so the story checks out
I had BATAT 45RPM on backorder with AS in June. Then all of a sudden the order vanished from my account. Perhaps it's because it's coming up in the series...I REALLY hope a focus on Impulse! brings us a AAA pressing of 'Blues and the Abstract Truth'. That is by far most most wanted Audiophile repress.
I have this one and think it sounds pretty good. I personally wouldn't bother upgrading from this copy. I got it from Sound of Vinyl a while back during a sale they had. But it's $40 shipped on Discogs, so not much of a discount from MoFi.Anyone know if this MoFi pressing is worth it? I’ve never thought it was a great sounding album in the first place.
Such a kickass session. Found an OG of this at my local for cheap, it in decent shape but could def use an upgrade.I've got this on its way from backorder dating to September...
