And they are like night and day. I know the repress gets lots of great reviews but it a completely different sound to the earlier press, Bowies vocals sound clearer, fuller and more present on the old version, it's a huge difference. I normally buy modern reissues because I've been stuck with poor copies of second hand stuff, but would really recommend that you all ditch the recent Bowies reissues and hunt out some earlier pressings.

I just played the stereo vs mono last night and on my system the stereo is the pretty clear winner FOR ME... But I don't have a mono cart or a mono switch so this is a big YMMV moment. I prefer the stereo but a solid mono setup might swing the other way...

FWIW the Mono is how the album was originally intended, but by no means is the stereo bad and to modern ears would sound more dynamic. I prefer the Mono, but it will sound muddy on first listen.

Well this is the first time this has happened. I cancelled a Amazon for Neil's Greatest Hits LP's that was on backorder the other day after starting my Neil vinyl quest. Today it arrived anyways, no charges. Perhaps a third party miscommunication ?

I feel like this happens with some frequency at a few places. I cancelled an order for two copies of Alicia Keys' latest album through Merchbar last October and they showed up at my place anyway in February, months after my refund had been processed!
I particularly have a hard time feeling any kind of sorry for Amazon giving away free albums. Nice score!

It's... Not insane? Like $230 usd. Considering its sealed mint, and I've seen pics and it looks brand new, not a terrible price ..
