Definitive Audiophile pressings

Alright.... Bridge Over Troubled Water. Best pressing besides the Mofi... which from what I've read is very hit and miss in terms of pressing issues/noise...
Thoughts? Anyone have a good pressing of this?

I haven't heard them but maybe one of the Classic records versions.

simply Vinyl did a pressing that might ok, they generally did some good stuff

There’s a Sundazed reissue that’s easy to find, mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed at QRP.

I’d imagine this one is solid. I have the sundazed pressing of Bookends and really enjoy it. I’ve also seen the 4xLP single sided 45 classic did but always seemed like overkill.

although a quick google makes it seem like the sundazed isn’t that easy to find now.

Search for “Bridge Over Troubled Water 2009” on eBay and you’ll find a few copies.

i have this fella. I know it’s MOV but it’s not an in house master, like the Dylan monos it was done by smiffy at Sterling and also like them it’s the dogs bollocks!

Dogs.... um.... bollocks.

-googles "bollocks"-

FUCK

-deletes search history-

That's uh, that's good right?

Man, even this MOV one is hard to find. I can't find it anywhere in North America...

I am on the same quest, within reason. I have the KG sundazed bookends, which I like, so I had been watching for a KG sundazed bridge for months on cogs and ebay, with nary a whiff.
I took a shot on this one, hoping it might be a repress of the RKS cut:
It's not and it's dull and lifeless.
So, with the recent praise for recordcity.jp. I pivoted in that direction and ordered these two japanese pressings, both in "excellent" condition and cheap:
They were shipped promptly and made it from Tokyo to Missouri in five days, as promised. And they are indeed excellent or "near mint." I listened to the 1970 stereo version last night and liked it a lot, Only Living Boy was quite lush. Then I had to put the boy to bed, so I didn't get to the 1972 quad version, which some folks at SHF really like. I will do a side-by-side tonight and report back.

Back when the UHQR Kind Of Blue was announced I put an order in for a copy and later had an email to say that unless I added more items to the order it would be a while as they had issues with the updates to VAT. After a back-and-forth email conversation, I decided to cancel as it just wasn't worth all the hassle.

Well, turns out that when I made the order a first attempt which I was told didn't go through (the system was crashing with everyone trying to order) actually did. Today the record arrived (with no extra fees) which is a welcomed surprise.

I won't have time to listen to it for a while but it certainly looks good and it will be nice to compare with my OG mono.

So yeah Stevie Wonder OGs are exceptional. Best I’ve heard his music. The Japanese ones were no better than the UK copy of Innervisions SQ wise but they do have nicer tip on style jackets. Overall pretty damn happy to have gone this way.

Were you able to confirm that listing is the KG cut? Because I bought a purported KG cut from a seller on discogs and received the earlier WG/NRP version issued by sundazed.

We’ll see when I get it! It’s definitely a Sundazed pressing and says 2009…
I hope so too. But, according to Fremer, sundazed started using QRP with KG cuts around Jan 2012
