Definitive Audiophile pressings

Alright, best available Bill Evans pressings that AREN'T ONE STEPS. Go...
This session is often overlooked, but it's great and a NM 1976 Fantasy pressing should be quite affordable.

The Bill Evans Trio - Since We Met

Url: The Bill Evans Trio – Since We Met (1976, Vinyl)

There is also a MOV pressing, but I went with a clean Japanese version. Also highly recommended session from later in his career.

Bill Evans - You Must Believe In Spring

Url: Bill Evans – You Must Believe In Spring (1981, Vinyl)

There's an Analogue Productions pressing of this, but I cannot afford that. I have an OJC pressing and like it a lot.

Cannonball Adderley With Bill Evans - Know What I Mean?

Url: Cannonball Adderley With Bill Evans – Know What I Mean? (1984, Pitman Pressing, Vinyl)

Analogue Production pressing at 33 rpm, totally worth the $30.

Bill Evans - At The Montreux Jazz Festival

Url: Bill Evans – At The Montreux Jazz Festival (2019, 200 Gram, Vinyl)

OJC pressing and one of the best sounding records in my collection. Highly recommended, great value for the money. Good Discoga reviews as well.

Bill Evans Trio* - Waltz For Debby

Url: Bill Evans Trio – Waltz For Debby (2011, Vinyl)

Also the two new Bill Evans Trio Verve Series releases from AP are likely to be good, '64 and '65. And almost all the RSD live show releases as of late, except Ronnie Scotts

If you’re calling in, supposedly Something Else one step can be preordered as well as Son of Schmillson 45RPM regular MoFi

Cheers for this, great tip. I've tried e-mailing to see if they will take a pre-order for Something Else. Calling from the UK might be a problem

@Mather i also have the Speakers Corner of At The Montreaux Jazz Fest and At Town Hall Vol 1 and both are solid.

When is the Somethin' Else One Step being announced? Really tempted by this, as it is a top 5 jazz album for me, but have the AP 2xLP at 45rpm, so not sure I really need the One Step.

Who knows. It’s unofficially announced. You can pre-order any of the rumored One Steps from MD. The list is pretty long but the rumored titles keep getting leapfrogged. They don’t charge until it ships. Elvis, Muddy Waters, ELO, Somethin Else and others are orderable.

supposedly Elvis Blue Hawaii regular MoFi is also available for preorder now.

Oh dear god...

Can you let me know if you hear back from them? I wasn't planning on going down the One-Step route again but this is an album that I have been meaning to upgrade.

It may never actually come out but who knows. Quite a few were announced and given catalogue numbers and then killed. It’s one of the few rumored one steps that I would want though. El Dorado being the other.

1972 wants their record collection back.

Any chance the silver series INXS Kick gets repressed? Have a couple silver series (Yaz and B-52's) and they're fantastic. Want a copy of Kick in my collection and the silver series would be ideal (but don't look at what the 2011 MOFI press goes for).

Thought I'd ask because some of the Silver Series stuff seems to keep coming back, but I guess this one is wishful thinking?

I'd guess it's not coming back but as you said...who knows. I haven't seen anything about the Stevies or Echo and the Bunnymen coming back either and those are silver labels. I just saw a copy of Kick sell for $110 or so on ebay.

this the one you're referring to?

if so, I have this one and it does sound awesome. I think theres another twofer that people have said is really solid too.
Yeah that’s the one! Not sure if it’s still cheap to get, but I got mine for like $10 quite a few years ago. It sound fantastic to me! Plus it’s got all the tracks from Village Vanguard and Waltz for Debby, just in the order they were actually played that day.

The Eric Dolphy twofer from Fantasy that combines Outward Bound and Out There released around that time sounds great too!

Can confirm you can still get pre-orders on the Eagles and Cannonball One-Steps if you call in directly. I just lead with "I am sure you are getting a lot of calls on this." The agent cut me off with a drawn out sigh and was like "yeeeeeeeeeeees which ones do you want." :ROFLMAO:

I just called to preorder Somethin Else and put in an order for the Crosby supervinyl. Before I told him the titles, he asked how many copies of the Eagles I wanted haha. Seemed shocked that I wasn't calling about that. It seems that nobody told the staff that the Eagles titles were going up and almost half of their staff is on vacation right now.

I grabbed this one recently for $20 in a shop. Some of those twofers are great! I do miss having the actual album art though.
