Definitive Audiophile pressings

I'm full of cold, which being a man means I'm incapacitated and rendered completely useless. I tried watching this video comparing Tea for the Tillerman pressings. I'm sure he is making a lot of sense, but can't quite make out what. I think he's saying the MofI is the best. His spectral analysis looks great but 🤷‍♂️

I've gone down the Prine route, I didn't really know him but got hooked after listening to the Tree of Forgiveness when that came out, I struggled to pick up Prine on Vinyl, but the last year or so has seen so many re-issues. The RSD box is stellar.
It took me forever to track down a copy of Prime Prine on vinyl which was the go-to for my girlfriend since her parents always played it in car rides on family trips. I slowly started picking up more and more OG copies when I found them for good deals. Fast-forward to the past year or so and Boom Boom just decides to cut copies of a bunch and they all start getting really great reissues.

The UHQR is a different beast...that one's usually $250+. MoFi also did a regular 33RPM and thats the one I have heard is just okay.

Yeah. I didn't realise the UHQR's were so good. I'm happy with the AP. tbh I was hoping the new mix would be as good a the AP, I was tempted to pick up a copy as 33's are easier when I'm lazy.

I completely lost track when he starts doing the spectral analysis

I have the 33 AP which is great. Around $85 or so on discogs now and way more than that on eBay. I was tempted to get the UHQR a few weeks ago when I saw a store post it on instagram but it was $250 and was too rich for my blood when I'm really happy with the AP.

I got the 45, loved it, and then decided to order an overpriced copy of the 33 from Acoustic Sounds, I'm sure I'd be happy with that & would play it more than the 45. But after a few months waiting for them to sort out shipping they sold it to someone else, I'm still a bit sore about that one.

most shops still haven't gotten their copies so just keep an eye on places like Plaidroom to get more in. There are at least 2,000+ copies out there floating around sometime soon.

Just guessing but…you called AS CS and they said the problem was fixed. Then a few weeks later u called again. They looked on the computer and said no worries. That went on until it was to late to fix problem. :-)

It was the beginning of the year & they said we don't know how to ship to England with the new tax rules, leave it with we'll figure it out & hold your order. I followed up a few times until one day they said we don't have the record anymore.

Well if I happen to find a copy for a decent price in the next 2 weeks, I'll be in the UK end of August and can bring one and mail it to ya.

Where in the U.K. are you headed?
London and Notts. My wife is desperate to see her parents since she hasn't seen them in almost 2 years now. Since we are both double vaccinated and don't need to quarantine, we're heading there for a week and half to see them.

Ah yeah that’s fair enough! I only saw my brother and his kids for the first time since Christmas 2019 this last week and we’re much nearer! Hoping for a return visit before Christmas and to see the other brother down in Devon. Where abouts in Notts? That’s where I hail from!

Her parents live right by Wollaton Park!

I talked myself out of picking up the American box & Unearthed, thinking I should probably just pick up a few of the albums and have ended up with nothing.

I do like the Third Man Johnny Cash Vault release, still thinking I should watch the DVD at some point
I have Unearthed on cd and lp and I like it. As a added bonus the Lp box comes with My Mothers Hymn Book. The Individual American albums can be hard to find and expensive right now, hopefully they repress again soon. The American lp box is well over 200+ these days.
