Lol, you bastards got me to spend $75 on Recordcity.jp out of nowhere. Shame on y'all.

Went ahead and grabbed

Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby (looks like 80's OJC in EX condition)
Joe Wilder - Wilder and Wilder (Really killer session that a lot of people haven't checked out!)
Miles Davis - The New Miles Davis Quintet (Japanese Prestige Pressing, hopefully its good!)

If y'all aren't familiar with the Joe Wilder, give this a stream!

Thx. I thought I saw it was limited on a video somewhere but when I looked yesterday after TheInGroove went out of stock on their preorders I couldn’t find any details on pressing #s.

That was when FOMO started to get to me.

He (Mike, owner of the In Groove in Phoenix, Arizona) just threw up a pretty nice unboxing video. Excited for mine to come! Looks amazing!

These type of box sets r a luxury for sure. And, I’m sure I will really “enjoy” the time spent listening to all 12 while picking out the couple favorites I will go back to multiple times. All good.
 
This Series of Prestige from 1977 are superb Prestige Jazz Golden 50 I think most are in mono but they sound fantastic!

I caved on the lighthouse set with a coupon from popmarket that got it to a fairly reasonable price. Seems like it will sell out so I figure I can always move on from it if I don't find myself listening often. Hype got me in a weak moment on this one.

I think I have been spared. It just got added to Qobuz as a 192/24 file so I’ll stream it that way. Pop market was the cheapest I could find too. If I get a coupon from target I may consider it.

I think (and hope for many's sake) this is what they do. It also indicates "first pressing" so it seems like they have plans for more, and maybe when they do that it will include the 2xLP.

Thanks again for the heads up, Plaid Room already shipped mine. I had it on pre-order at Target but I'm not sure that's going to get fulfilled after hearing how heavily allocated it was. I already saw some people get their Target shipping notification and mine is still on pre-order so I'm not too hopeful. Probably will just cancel it at this point. Can't wait to spin this one though! One of my favorite live jazz releases.

Pretty exciting release. Music, sound, and pressing quality all done right. I agree they need to do a smaller "best of" subset. And, hopefully a 2nd pressing eventually. The last few years have been a great time to get into jazz. Went back and watched all the youtube vids again. I got my shipping notice also so I know it is being packed.

And speaking of packed, PlaidRoom (or TheInGroove for that matter) will be handling and packing these with care like they deserve. So barring really bad luck the heavy boxes should arrive in mint shape. I plan to keep the hype going and spend some time replaying a few of my other Lee Morgan releases this weekend.
