Definitive Audiophile pressings

Yes that release is the same as the 2017 RM just on purple instead of black. Both are KG. The 2017 is digitally sourced. Both sound great IMO.

Interestingly it says Target Exclusive but I wonder what is exclusive to it. The official Prince store sold its own identical version.
I’m not sure they are the same. The stampers are different. Different sources and 2015 is a digital remix.

Both KG but not the same.

Oh sorry, my message was unclear. I'm pretty sure the 2021 and 2017 are the same 2015 digital RM (same as used on the ultimate collector's edition CD release). I didn't mean that the 2009 and 2017 are the same. I see that my wording was ambiguous.

From what I remember, those are the plates from the 207 reissue that wasn’t received very well. From my recollection, the 2009 KG version was much better received?

I have that 2017 KPG Purple Rain. It may come from a digital source, but IMO it's really well done. Can't speak for the newer pressing because even if it uses the same plates, who knows if the pressing plant will do a good job. Plus it's on colored vinyl.

I find that quite a few of those Target releases are really nice sounding. Always surprised that some were done at Pallas or use KG/CB plates

To be fair, my used copies of all their albums sound superb as they are. I don’t have high-end gear though, so maybe there are higher levels to go.
Definitely. OGs always sounded great to me. 10 years ago, it was also usually easy to pick up clean pressings for less than $5 of all their albums through Gaucho. I’m assuming that’s not the case anymore though.

maybe 10-20 now in a local used shop or couple bucks at thrift or yard sales.

How are the Page Zeppelin reissue Lp's regarded ?
I have 5 of them. They are good enough for me. I have been able to acquire my copies for between $8-$15 each new, on sale which feels like a good deal. They’re not like Bob Ludwig cuts or anything and the remasters are digital but overall I am happy with them. I have Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Zoso, and House of The Holy. There were complaints about a pressing issue with the initial HOTH run with a skipping issue but it was subsequently corrected on later pressings. Of the 5 I own, the one with the most positive feedback is III but like I said they all sound good to me. They are pressed well with no static and while not as dynamic as an VG+ OG or 80s reissue, they also can be had for under $20 pretty easily.
