Definitive Audiophile pressings

Another MoFi available for preorder if anybody wants it...

Randy Travis - Storms of Life. regular MoFi.- $39.99
This s a fantastic traditional country album from the early 80s. Up there with Dwight Yoakam’s Guitar, Cadillac, Etc…, Etc…; Steve Earle’s Guitar Town; or Lyle Lovett’s Self-Titled debut.

…All that being said, you can probably pick up a NM OG pressing for under $10.

I sampled it and it wasn't my thing but I can see that some people have been pretty amped about it. Supposedly Shankar Family & Friends is another one that was added to the MoFi upcoming list.

Is this the album with that forever and ever amen song? I only know Randy Travis for it.

I find that quite a few of those Target releases are really nice sounding. Always surprised that some were done at Pallas or use KG/CB plates
I got the Target Purple Rain today and it sounds really, really nice. Dead silent and booming sound. KPG in the dead wax. It looks pretty sweet too, purple with a black swirl. Very pleased for $22.

Damn. I’m going to have to hit the phone again tomorrow morning. And to think I thought I had all the available one-step titles (except two) on preorder. I might have to cut a couple off the list. Maybe 🤔

On a side note Pearl arrived today.
You’re probably gonna be waiting 2+ years for a lot of these anyway!

My assumption is that if they're allowing these to be unofficially preordered over the phone that they're gonna be pressed in large quantities. None of the one steps have been difficult to get on pre orders.

It’s kind of nice to know u have them coming but it can get hard to rem a couple years or more out.

Given current demand the #s r likely will continue to rise but who knows. Things go through the floor we my see the cut out bins filled with once high end vinyl. Suppose they will drill holes in the stylish boxes?

Please keep up posted on how Pearl sounds…do you have the 45 by chance to compare it to ?

MD has always allowed you to order any upcoming MoFis over the phone regardless of pressing quantity. It’s more of a way to let loyal customers not have to worry about preordering once it goes on sale to the general public online. You can essentially just call them and depending on who you get, they will just read you a list of any potentially upcoming MoFi titles even if they haven’t been formally announced yet. There’s nothing “unofficial” about it. MD owns MoFi.

Yes. Will do. I have the 2016 45rpm. It sounds really good. Can’t go wrong with that one. Hope to get the One Step cleaned and played soon.
I’m curious about this too although I won’t be getting the One Step on this one unless I somehow find it on massive sale like most of the other one steps I got. I hardly listen to the MoFi I have of Pearl as it is for some reason.
