Definitive Audiophile pressings

What is the signal path for your setup? Haven't seen one of these before.
Pine Player on Mac OS>Topping D-10s via USB cable>RCA cables to Adcom. It has optical, coaxial, and RCA outputs.

It's what I used to do with my Pono player that could read DSD files. This doesn't need to be recharged. Powered by USB from the Mac.

I'll have to figure out a better USB cord situation. I bought a 6 foot cable but it won't fully power the Topping. Other Topping like my headphones amp have their own power system. This I would imagine was thought of as a laptop solution for playing audio.

It's not playing pure DSD as I don't have anything on this old Adcom that can accept a digital stream. I bet if I went out with the optical or coaxial to my DSD capable receiver, it would work.

About a month after I turned 15 the airline I was flying back to South America went bankrupt and their planes were repossessed. But not until I'd flown from Detroit to Miami, so until the airline could find a way for me to get home they put me up alone in a shitty hotel a couple blocks from the Orange Bowl Stadium. I had no money but there was a Chinese buffet in the hotel with the same food on it from morning until night that I got two vouchers for each day. Despite my mom freaking out that I was there alone, I spent the couple weeks I was stuck there wandering around the area on foot. I've had a soft spot for Miami since then. It was a hell of an adventure for a 15 year old.
I swear to God I know that buffet! The owner was this sleazy Asian dude named Jimmy that would constantly hit on my fiancée whenever i wasn't around (she was staying at one of those hotels by there because her mom was getting treatment at the hospital near there). Orange bowl's been torn down for ages but all the locals still think of it fondly(ish)

Gotta echo @Jbraswell here about OG vinyl. Tossed this $5 VG+ Shake It Up in my most recent RCJ order:
It rips, so detailed and lively, such tight bass. Maybe the MoFi is better, but for $5, whatever
Nice. And no the Mofi isn't better.
All those OG Cars vinyls just smash.

I have this OG Canadian press of Candy-O that absolutely thumps.
Yes, I have this US OG of Candy-O, formerly my dad's, and it sounds so good that I think it might be one of those mythical hot stampers
I like the album so much that I picked up the MoFi for comparison, but I think the OG is better

I have this same pressing. And the MoFi. Never done a straight comparison. Hmmmm.

Pretty damn cool that you have great records from your dad!! My dad had no records to give me, and, if he did, I’d be lucky if it was Chubby Checker.

I have Canadian OGs of all the Cars albums and they sound absolutely great.

Just received and am listening to the newly remastered/released 2LP version of Waiting for Columbus from Rhino. Pretty sure it’s a BoomBoom effort. Sounds great! (Seems like every week I get another record pre-ordered from Target during their last B2G1 sale.)

EDIT: figured out I was wrong about BoomBoom. It’s Grundman’s handiwork. I’m hardly disappointed 😜

Good to know. I was thinking about grabbing this. Does it have “KPG” etched in the runout?
Been trying to figure that out! Looks like it might actually be BG for Grundman, which would make sense because I think he’s been involved with this album in the past. Either way, sounds great. On some sides it’s illegible enough it could go either way haha, but there’s one side where the BG is pretty clear.

EDIT: Oh yeah it’s Grundman. Looks like 45RPM guy did a video comparing it to an OG. I’ll have to check that out.
