Definitive Audiophile pressings

Sooooo, I came across a (visually)NM/NM Wish You Were Here Half Speed in the wild today... it's the Canadian Press and it looks like it's never been played.

So um... I have 3 copies of this album now.

Oh also I bought a NM/NM Beatles White Album Mofi from @OMC so um... now I have two copies of that album and um... in other news I need to sell some stuff...

I have that Beatles MoFi and I just love it.

Man, it's been a while since I wandered into that International PIF thread

EDIT: Oh yeah it’s Grundman. Looks like 45RPM guy did a video comparing it to an OG. I’ll have to check that out.
I watched the video and Michael’s Waiting For Columbus video, he was a fan of the Grundman Cut reissue but said he liked the “OG” Los Angeles pressing slightly more. So, I went out to my local today and they had the reissue in stock for $32 but they also had a VG+ Los Angeles original pressing in stock for $14, so I went with that instead. The jackets a bit rough but the vinyl looks clean. We will see how it goes.

I picked up a Grundman today, after seeing his video yesterday. But I actually looked in the used bins first LOL.

The first release of it wasn't...and it was what I had.

They later made the BG cut available, but I already bought the EU version
Okay cool, I was worried for a second there... I know mine had the BG hype sticker. Of course I still gotta go check when I get home...

The Doug Sax TML cut isn't all that bad, but I already had it...and bought the 2016 release thinking it was going to be a new BG cut.

I think I gave it to a friend because it's no longer here - at least in the 2016 form. I haven't even opened the 2011 release, though. I think the German and US pressing I no longer have got me through until the UK OP and BG cut came along.

Well I still want the 82 Half Speed but if this 80 is as clean as it looks, then it's much less of a priority.

Awesome!

I have a Jacksonville original I'll have to get around to comparing to the Grundman reissue. At the time of purchase, it was hard to argue with the deal :D

Lol, I can sympathize. I have three copies of John Martyns Solid Air I'm comparing right now 😂

Two UK originals with different Matrixes and the Back to Black Reissue, I also have the half speed at my girlfriend's dad's I'll have to snag back for more comparing 😂

My local just posted some MoFi/Audiophile albums online:
MoFi Aja, MoFi American Beauty, and Super Discs Rumours.
I bought myself an early birthday present.

Let me know which you like best! This is an album I’ve been meaning to buy for a long time!

I'm definitely liking this one the most!

Pretty similar in sound both this and the Sterling cut but this copy sounds just a bit cleaner on the top end, maybe it's just in better shape? But definitely will be my go to. Gonna listen to the Back to Black tomorrow, I remember it sounding great, it was my go to copy for years after all!

My main curiousty now is comparing the <3 cut to the Abbey Road Halfspeed 👍🏼

I will say though, I was rather blown away listening to these originals, this is one of my favorite albums ever and I definitely had alot of moments where it felt like I was listening to it for the first time again. Really good stuff!
