Discogs - Help, Tricks, Secrets And Tips

My sales have dried up to near zero for the last several months. Getting 1-2 orders a month, if any. Could be cause I’ve been too busy to play NYE records and ID ones I’d be OK parting with but and any of y’all still lazy selling and getting actual sales?
I'm like you 1-2 per month. I've always lazy sold though. Keep about 50-60 for sale and 100 or so on the chopping block. Filter in as needed. Makes it so the collection isn't a revolving door but I get the occasional kickback that I put toward new stuff (which I only buy like 1 a month now).

BTW I thought I typed “I’ve been too busy to play any records” and didn’t see it autocorrected to NYE. I didn’t get a giant lot of records on/for New Years Eve. Lol.
I thought it was a listening strategy - "I'm going to pull a dozen albums that I would listen to on New Years Eve and give them a spin. If they don't have me pumped for the new year I put them up for sale."

It didn't make a lot of sense to me, but I didn't want to he THAT guy who asks, "WTF are NYE records?!"

Happened upon what I believe to be a 2nd state mono butcher cover of Yesterday and Today by The Beatles. Thinking about selling it. Looks like value is between $500 and $1500, depending on condition. Jacket and disc are around VG, nice copy for it's age.

Anyone have experience selling valuable records on Discogs and have any tips? I mostly sell $10 - $50 albums. Or have recommendations on another venue to sell at?

A week. And sometimes even then I might fire them an email and give them a couple more days to respond.
Thanks, communication has been iffy from the start. I only know he shipped the record because I received the PayPal alert.
Tracking stopped updating on June 8, I reached out to the seller but got no response, so I opened a inquiry with USPS last Friday. I got a reply today that the package is lost.
I reached out to the seller again, let's see if he replies this time.

Discogs entry question! Jazz Dispensary did their collaboration series with VMP for some exclusives that were on colored vinyl. Now JD has started repressing those on regular black vinyl. For Leon Spencer - Where I’m Coming From, the VMP pressing seems to have catalogue number CR00356. For the black reissue, the jacket has the catalogue number CR00525 on the spine, back and hype sticker. But the label on the record has the catalogue number CR00356, as does the deadwax since they reused the plates from the VMP release. Which number should I put as the label catalogue number?

Wouldn't this be a situation where you'd enter both, and use the notes to explain where each appears? But I'm only going by what I think I've seen on discogs. I've never entered anything and have no idea what the 'rules' might be.

I would use 525 in the entry and note that 356 shows on the record/deadwax, like Russ says, I've seen that in entries before too

Yea this is what I was leaning toward…one of them has to be chosen as the main catalog number so that’s where I wasn’t sure which to use!

yep....enter both.

I'd go with the one on the spine first, then the reused one 2nd - if it's a cat # by itself and not a label matrix as in "CR00356-A"

If it's just "CR00356", then use both as a cat #

Also add the repress tag - since this represses Boom Boom's VMP cut

Thanks! Would the reused second one that’s on the labels be put under “barcodes and other identifiers—> Label code”? Or somewhere else?

This is the listing if that helps:

Should be able to add another field for the second one.
