I'd also like to hear your review on the Stellar. I've been running the PS Audio NuWave Phono for a while, which I really like. But I've been looking at other things. For a while I was sold on the Sutherland 20/20. Then I actually decided, screw it, I'll get the Sutherland DUO - which I believe
@HiFi Guy recently purchased.
But recently I've been paying more and more attention to the (professional) reviews coming out about the Stellar (which others have recommended on here before, to give credit where it is due) and they're all very, very positive (a trend I've seen in reviews is the opinion that it is punching above its weight class and outperforming more expensive phonos). Plus I like the fact that PS Audio will give me an $1800 trade-in value for the NuWave so I could realistically get the Stellar for $700 (I actually thought they only did trade-ins for other PS Audio gear, but according to their form they will accept other manufacturers!).
As well, I like - much w/ the NuWave - the user-friendly accessibility to on-the-fly gain and loading changes. Anything else I've been interested in you gotta take off screws and go under the cover; which is fine if you're using one cart but I plan on using a couple. I like the ability of the Stellar to change gain/loading in a moment and have the slowest part of setting up for, say, a mono cart being how long it takes me to pop in and out headshells/calibrate tracking. In fact, I looked at Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista positively in the same regard (but an $1800 heftier price tag and some other reasons it didn't hold my attention - FWIW, even had a guy at Upscale Audio tell me he'd choose both Sutherlands - more or less expensive - over the Mu Fi).
Anyway, that was mostly me spewing out my inner shopping logic to really just say, again, that I'd love to see your impressions of the Stellar.
