Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Not sure if this is the right spot, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook up multiple inputs to a pair of Kanto Yu6 speakers. Currently they are hooked up to my computer but I would like to see what they can do with my turntable and tape deck. There is only one set of RCA inputs however and those are connected to a Schiit Modi DAC. I can just unplug each individual component while testing, but if I permanently decide to use these as my main speakers then it will be a problem. I assume I can only use the phono stage on the speakers if I only have the turntable hooked up and nothing else. Don't know if my computer is capable of hooking into one of the optical inputs.

You could use an RCA input selector like this. You would just have to remember to switch the phono on or off when you switch to or from it. Or you could use it as an excuse to upgrade to a nice standalone phono 😉

That looks to be exactly what I need. Didn't realize I could plug the rca cables from my turntable into something like this and attach the ground wire directly to the speakers. I think a nice phono stage would be a better solution though and save me the inevitable headache when I forget to switch from phono to line in.

When N&G's very own resident hifi journalist and consultant @Ed Selley recommends a product I take notice. This was already at the top of my short list of phono stages.
Lindemann Limetree Phono

It's a gem; simple (but well made) casework covering a simple circuit made out of superb components. It's never going to triumph in shelf appeal but it sounds magnificent.

Another throwback revival piece cashing in on the vinyl revival. I'd be curious to see/hear it, but given that I can't remember the last time I saw B&O stuff anywhere doesn't look promising. The fact that the website says it will only be available in also means I likely won't be checking out this one at any price point.

Ooooh linear tracking arm. Interesting! I’m imaging it’s not cheap?

Another hi-fi legend, LEAK audio, is back after
disappearing from the production lines more than 40 years ago, with a fresh new take on traditional British stereo design with a brand new integrated amp along with a CDT CD transport.

The difference is B&O is the same Danish company from back in the day. Leak is now a part of the same Chinese conglomerate that makes Quad and Wharfedale.

I never said the quality of their components is as good or that their equipment is as well made as they once was but they look sharp and for nostalgic reasons I could see people going for it. 🤷‍♂️
