Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

So I did something similar back at the "Other" place while working through pre-amps. Here's my current opinion to the question of "how much better" one is compared to the other, or how I would categorize the audible jump from one to the other. This isn't science, this is personal opinion and only based on equipment I've owned and used. The second numbered column is the order I obtained these in.

Something to keep in mind while looking at this, some of these can be had at very attractive prices if you look and would be something to consider depending on where you're at currently. (Under over is/was appox. retail)

Enjoy and discuss if need be..........the Chinook is, well, I'll have words soon, lol.

All I can think of is Spinal Tap. The Chinook apparently goes to 11! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@AnthonyI's system needed that little push over the cliff
LOL, it did, I always had this mental, whatever, that the pre needed a little jump to fall into place with the rest of the UD system. This is where I wish I could fill the "gaps" on a spreadsheet like this. The 20/20 would have to fall into place I would assume, just based on member/user comments and opinion, but having not had one I felt it better to not include it........along with probably a few more that I'm sure would drop in.

I’d love to compare this to the Duo. If you ever get bored, I’d be open to trade for a few weeks.

Hey all, I'm looking for some recommendations on some powered speaker for my DAC. I think I'm going to movie it behind my desk, which will still give me headphone access for my digital files and streaming, but when I don't need to go with headphones I thought a nice set of speakers would be a nice addition.

I'm looking for something reasonably priced and utilizing the RCA outputs of the DAC.

Just thought I would put it out there for those who've had any positive experiences with some powered speakers.

Thanks :)

Looks like I'm going to have to put my big boy pants on and fit a new cartridge on my turntable. I don't trust my printer to print off a protractor at 100% accuracy, so I think I'll buy one - is the Ortofon one decent, or am I better investing in something better? I have a scale, but should I get one of those wee spirit levels as well?

Do they sell the GeoDisc across the pond? it's a bit steep but it lasts forever.

If you get the Hudson hifi mirrored one on Amazon it usually does the job well and is a fair price in comparison to some of the other options.
