Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

There’s always Amazon. They’ll leave anything.
understandably i dont trust amazon and bezos with my money or my shipping (even though i do have good results from amazon the vinyl horror stories are real so i use official sources when i can), i'll probably do LP Gear or Music Direct because i trust them i just got nervous of a super rare occurrence

(and yes there is a fedex box location and a UPS one both in a 5-10 mile radius)

I just stimulated the economy by purchasing a Nagaoka MP-110H Cartridge and Headshell off eBay. I am upgrading from an AT95E cart. My turntable is a Technics Direct Drive SL-D205. The new cart is scheduled to arrive at the end of the month. I am excited to hear the difference.
I had the 95E on my Pioneer and then upgraded to the Nagaoka. I think you’ll enjoy it much more. It tracks everything in its way.

Here’s a deal and a half. No dust cover though. You could just lay a cloth over it when not in use.

Reg $2500
B Stock-likely very minor cosmetic issue
$1500
Sale Price $1279

If you aren’t happy, you can return within 60 days.

Thanks! I'm not sure when I will pull the trigger on a new table. I will look into this one. I have been warming up to the studio deck!
Cheers!

is asking about headphones fine here? if so should i go with the grado SR80s or the SR225s... i have heard the 80s and i definitely like them but i hear the 225 are a good upgrade

Not sure what your price range is, but the Polk LSIM 703s blow my old ELAC F6 (floorstanding) speakers out of the water.
Man, that’s hard to believe! The biggest knock I’ve found on the F6 is the efficiency which the Polk LSIM 7xx line is similarly bad about. They are certainly better looking, though.

The Polks sound like they have more clarity or “musicality”. I kept the F6 speakers and added the rest of the pieces to make a 3.1 system for my TV. It sounds great. I would certainly recommend them if you can get a good price.

Found a pair of open box, brand new Wharfdale Denton 85s for under $600. I originally got them at $675 but they said they’re was a hole in the box and that they had to open to make sure there was no damage. They said that everything was ok and and offered another 15% off. So I’m pretty excited to have them and test them out. They were from Music Direct via Reverb.

You are clearly in MoFi Studiodeck territory.

Just to chime in, forget everything you think you know about changing speeds with a belt driven TT when it comes to the MoFi decks ;)

Hoooly Shiiit!!

I expected it to sound better, but didn't expect it to sound this awesome! Super happy with it! Got the ultra tracker. The directions said for the studio tracker cartridge, put the anti-skate on notch two. Had look up the weight of the ultra and it is 9.7g, so notch 3 is correct, right?
