Oh man, I mean there's a million different ways to do it. But like that same livingroom where my system is has this wood:

I'm having a blast! This sounds amazing! My low-mids Got more clear and a tad more forward at the same time. The whole spectrum sounds a bit wider. Highs are more clear and a tad less strident at the same time. Bass is deeper and tighter. Imaging is very good. I'm getting more detail retrieval from mids as well. The thing is none of these were bad before. I did feel that the PrimaLuna softened and rounded the low mids a bit, but it sounded fantastic even with that. I didn't expect this significant a jump from this switch. Thanks @HiFi Guy for the push over the cliff.

great for those cool winter nights in ........ ohhh forget it :)

Well they're about the 4th different color of wood in the room and I need to do some centre console adjusting but they're in and I've definitely gone from sounding like I'm listening in a small bar to sounding like I'm listening in a stadium. Room calibration is gunna have to wait to really dial them in but they sound great straight out of the box.

Glad you like them. The good news is there is nowhere to go (as I see/hear it) once you have Mahis. The sound is addictive and nothing else I’ve ever heard sounds like them.

Agreed. The only thing from a sound perspective that would give me a big improvement from here would be speakers (phono would perhaps be a step up). The current speakers are pretty fantastic with the subs. The amount I would need to spend to make a jump that's worthwhile would be more than I'd be willing to at the moment. I'm guessing as much as the amps/preamps combined at a minimum.

So I've tried the Mahi's with 5.5 Ohms (recommended) as well as straight in to the Zu's at 12 Ohms and then 8 Ohms. There was muscle at 5.5 but less stage width. The 12 was wide as sky but lost some of that muscle and I ended up at the middle setting of 8 Ohms.

Should I just rock with that? Seems odd to prefer them slightly mismatched, but the best I can think of is that the speakers are optimal at 12 and the Mahi's at 5 so I've split the difference.

As an aside between the preamp and amps switchable feedback, I've ended up liking right at 3db feedback for both.

Man, can speakers be "confident"? Because if so these Synthesis are effing CONFIDENT. There is an absolutely effortless swagger to the sound they put out.
Like, it's intimidating. I think I'm actually renting the house from them now.
Like, I saw my wife shooting them a look. But not just a look... a LOOK look... I think she's theirs now too...

Speakers that exude BDE.
