Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

If L100s are not the right speaker for you, send them to my house. I would be happy to take them off your hands free of charge.
Funny story.

They were supposed to be delivered today and of course all of the delivery instructions from the distributors to the shipping company were completely ignored. I get a call from a confused operator asking if I'm a business or a residence.

Me: -sigh- Yes, residence. You need a small truck with a lift gate, there's no loading dock. I will be here until 230, it has to be delivered before then.

Her: Oh, sounds important.

Me: .........

They were gunna show up with an 18 wheeler looking for a loading dock on my tiny street. And then I guess, throw them onto my lawn.

If they’re on the lawn, where are you gonna land when your wife punts you off the porch?

This applies to everything in this hobby, not just speakers.

Good stuff here, definitely worth keeping in mind with all of this equipment! Before I even played it I had a feeling my LS50 Metas would get a mention because they can be kind of polarizing, but I know Steve loved them. I've been super happy with them to even though I know they aren't for everyone.

I had this happen with a 350lbs tool chest. They literally dropped the pallet on my front lawn and left. Not on the edge of the lawn, like 5 feet away from the driveway. Didn't even call or knock on the door. We missed them by about 10 minutes.

I called and said they could come back before it rains over night rusting out my new tool chest, or they could refund my entire $200 delivery charge and I'd figure it out myself. To my surprise, they opted for the refund. I took the afternoon assembling the wheels in the front lawn and building a path of heavy cardboard boxes to wheel it to the driveway and then into my garage. Would have been easier if they'd just left it in the driveway.

Oh christ, Lord knows what's going to happen when they supposedly arrive tomorrow to deliver. But whatever it is I can almost guarantee its going to be bad for me. One way or another. My guess is they arrive with an 18 wheeler despite being told twice now that this will not work in any which way.

hopefully they don't hold your gear hostage for "Extra Fees". Shady moving companies are well known for this. I would also let your dealer know about the cluster F.

At least you could unbox each speaker from the pallet. Much better than a single 300+ lbs box, lol

Oh, I'm fine with that. My main fear is that they don't bring a truck with a lift gate. Not the worst but it'll be a total pain in the ass to get them off the truck. My street is very very narrow.
