Yep. They could be rotated 360 degrees or taken off and put on bookshelf stands which is kinda cool. Are the round ends speakers?

I'd keep it as is for aesthetics and add a couple floorstanders.Yep. They could be rotated 360 degrees or taken off and put on bookshelf stands which is kinda cool.
Electrohome Signature was always the best rated of this style, but looks like it’s discontinued and replaced with this.Hi all
My wife’s friend wants to buy a portable style record player for her partner, that decision isn’t going to change, they like idea of a vinyl player but it’s going to be a bit of fun and they want it small.
Does one exist that doesnt get the bad press that Crossleys do etc. Maybe one that could plug into headphones and speakers or Bluetooth to speakers ?
I have no recommendations To offer them.
Thx
If that's what they're looking for I would park the "bad press" part because its a commentary from people like "US", lol. If they just want to spin a few albums they pick up for $5 at a local or Target/Walmart, have at it.Hi all

Here's what I found on the world wide webHi all

Agreed. Plus, it's just a bad idea. That's not snobby. They simply are really bad solutions even for what the person is after. I think something like an AT LP-60 and some small Audio engine speakers would be enormously better and still small. If, and that's a colossal, ginormous if... I were looking at portable players I would put almost the entire focus on any that use a stylus that isn't going to wreck records. Literally all other attributes would be distant seconds to this one.
Ugh, sorry. Maybe your anti-skate is set too light? I'm just thinking out loud.‘Sakes.
Think I’ve just bent another stylus. It’s only the AT VM95 eliptical and I think I have a spare, but it’s a bit frustrating.
I have a feeling it could be user error here. I think it’s happening when I drop the needle, and sometimes the arm is slamming into the first track with a big slide. I’m usually pretty careful when I put my arm down, so I don’t know if I’m doing something basic wrong?
‘Sakes.

It's either the anti-skate or simply that you're cueing too close to the edge of the record. I tend to try to queue pretty close to the actual first track lead-in, and that has really cut down on this issue for me.Ugh, sorry. Maybe your anti-skate is set too light? I'm just thinking out loud.
I can't imagine. I've been pretty rough and not bent any. Bad luck man. I agree with Kvetcha on culprits, but geez.‘Sakes.

I haven't heard any complaints about the Insight, though a few people have upgraded it to more expensive Sutherlands. I certainly have no complaints about mine-very clear with no background noise unless the record is very rough.
I'm not familiar with WhestTwo, so I defer to others.
Thanks to you both, I decided on the Sutherland Insight and Hana SL Cartridge. I got the Sutherland yesterday and will get the SL on Saturday (I believe). The Hana SL is a gorgeous thing, you won’t regret that choice for sure! It is a light cartridge though so check if it’s in your turntables range, you may need to get a lighter counterweight to make it work right!
Missed out on the conversation, but you'll be thrilled with both, gratzThanks to you both, I decided on the Sutherland Insight and Hana SL Cartridge. I got the Sutherland yesterday and will get the SL on Saturday (I believe).
Thank you so much!Missed out on the conversation, but you'll be thrilled with both, gratz
Thanks both. I'm at 1.8g, which is in the range. Weird. The only other thing I can think is that I'm bashing it when I put the cover back on at the end of the day? The stylus is leaning to the left when you look at it, which is the opposite direction of it slamming into the record, so it could be that?I can't imagine. I've been pretty rough and not bent any. Like I said I've never bent one...despite at least 2 times where I was sure I destroyed a very expensive one. I'm not sure. I suppose it could be.Thanks both. I'm at 1.8g, which is in the range. keep the bookshelvesI have finally got the spouse okay with moving my bookshelves off the shelf and out a foot or two. Things sound better there obviously. I'm riding Zu Omen ii Bookshelves with a sub on each side. Now that I have the placement battle won, the floor standing version of that speaker is on the table. It will certainly look cleaner with just floorstanders. The key is that There is no way I can keep the subs AND switch to floor standers.
Would you switch or just leave the set up as is from a sound perspective?
- Same speaker but one goes 25k - 50 but has Rel subs to 32. The other goes from 25k - 34
I was under the impression that most thought floor standing speakers were better in a vacuum. Is that strictly when comparing bookshelf no sub vs. floor standing because of range?keep the bookshelves
