I like my little REL TZero and it can be really nicely dialled in to fit the speakers. It took about fifteen minutes to calibrate it and I’ve only touched it to turn it off for electronic music to stop my neighbour complaining. I’d highly recommend it. But also if you’re happy with the bass you’re happy with the bass lol.

Had he gone over the basics? The eARC is turned on in the TV, it’s the eARC enabled HDMI out, etc.?

I have an LG and a Sonos Arc in my family room and the LG has somehow (meaning probably one of my kids) had the settings changed a few times. Drove me crazy hunting down the issue.

God bless my lovely old playbase and it’s optical connection to my lovely old LG LCD with 5.1 over optical pass through! 😂

I'm not certain. It's my good buddies brother and I'm kinda popping in to make suggestions but he's not overly forthcoming with info. But yes I suspect there's something going on with the Bluos or Dirac being activated and cancelling everything out.

Looking around, vintage seems the way to go. Not many being produced and seem less than ideal. Especially given it seems I can get a quality piece refurbished for cheaper than the retail of the new stuff

You’ll have to hunt for a vintage one with a walnut case to match your amp now 😉

Seriously though as it’s just for one tape would you not just be tempted to get a little portable thing with a line out?

That is also an option. I think I have couple of other cassettes floating around. I’m also certain I will buy some when flea market/thrift shopping if I actually have a deck at home.
