Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Meh, I’m not that concerned with matchy matchy anyhow as the likelihood of it ever sitting on the same surface as the amp or the turntable is pretty much nonexistent. I’m thinking wood grain/walnut when possible will be enough to keep me happy.

I’m probably gonna check the pawn/thrift stores/my local first. Seems there are a couple of repair places in the area too.
I went through ebay for my refurbished deck. The price of shipping blows but if you buy from a top rated seller who offers a guarantee you know the deck is gonna be in pretty good shape. The cassette mechanisms are a pain in the ass to repair unless you have a decent workspace and want to put in the time and effort. A refurbished one be all cleaned up, replaced rollers, heads and whatnot. Taking a flyer on a secondhand thrift store/garage sale find isn’t bad as long as the price is super low but it can be a bit of a crapshoot.

You can now buy the stolen 80s car radios that supposedly sound divine!
Is one of them the Grundig that was pulled from my shitty Datsun less than a week after installation? (Grundig — very poor man’s Blaupunkt!)

That theft made this high school kid’s day! They cut away the rubber seal around the back windshield and just pulled it off whole, laid it on the ground next to my driveway, and had their way w/ my new car stereo. Welcome to Miami in the early 80s

My amp (NAD326BEE) has been randomly throwing the protection switch. I saw this at my local. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on an Outlaw RR2160 amp?

I've had an RR2150 for years and it's been great. It was my main amp for a while (phono, CD, USB), and now it's in my dining room system where its tuner is used A LOT by my wife, and I have an NAD (irony!) CD player and cord for my iPhone running through it. Powerful and great sound. I also have found it to be very reliable (knock on wood!). I think the RR2160 would be a safe bet, and that seems like a good price.

Thank you! I’m sort of curious because it has an old school tuner. I kinda miss that!

Well having a tuner is old school, but it's a modern one in the sense that you don't have to spin a dial and try to zero in on a specific station. That's the part my wife likes best! I like the look of vintage tuners, but the newer ones are a lot more convenient.
