Think you just identified a side hustle to spin up in the canadian marketI know it's a revolution in sound reproduction because it cost $22 to ship that $6 washer to me from Texas.

Honestly the reason I went this way was the one VPI shipped with the table was very much just a hard black plumbing washer. It was very thick and too tight for the spindle and would leave little bits of black rubber on the platter occasionally when taking it on and off. And over time I didn't like the idea of finger oils and such mixing with the black rubber and potentially leaving marks on labels. So when I lost it I just decided to replace it with something designed a wee bit better. Didn't see anything local, I did actually see the reviews of the turntable mats but since it's just a washer and the vinyl sits clamped flat against the metal platter I don't think there's any concern whatsoever of it changing the sound in any discernable way like a full size mat would.Do they have hardware stores in Canadia? Asking for a friend.
Yeah, I’m asking question. What the fuck do you do with them?Just wanted everyone to know that I just received my "Herbies AudioMart GrungeBuster" in the mail and it's going to revolutionize how people listen to records.
I will be taking no further questions.
Washer goes under record, clamp goes over record, clamp pushes record down on washer and flattens warps for happy happy play time.Yeah, I’m asking question. What the fuck do you do with them?
Yeah, I typed that before I read the rest of the thread. I have the little felt one that came with my Michell however many years ago I bought it…Washer goes under record, clamp goes over record, clamp pushes record down on washer and flattens warps for happy happy play time.
Looks like something you'd see in Cyberpunk 2077 laying around at the Ripper DocView attachment 194082

If you’re old enough to have watched 9 1/2 Weeks when it came out, and if you’re anything like me, you lusted Kim Basinger and The Dragon in ways that are permanently imprinted, even decades later. Added bonus: “Music for Airports”View attachment 194082

Lol!Did I just see that tape deck flip the tape for you?
Lol!
For a 21 year old me who was really into stereo shit even then, albeit quasi-ignorantly, it was unreal. But I see in the comments that the RX-505 and The Dragon are two different decks. I was always told the one in 9.5 Weeks was The Dragon, but apparently not. So I was quasi-ignorant at best.

Does this give you any pause to the rest of VPI’s company gestalt? If they can’t get the simple washer, which has been an integral part of their clamping system for 40 years, right how can you expect them to do much more important manufacturing aspects correct? I ask this in all seriousness.Honestly the reason I went this way was the one VPI shipped with the table was very much just a hard black plumbing washer. But don't think for even a second I didn't feel like a total moron when I saw that shipping cost and just went ahead and punched that purchase button nonetheless.
I mean not really in terms of my table, they clearly make well regarded tables and it sounds great. And honestly I don't know if it's actually a plumbing washer, seems like one but who knows, maybe it's some sort of proprietary thingery gummerey with audiophliac propiteristics. But I've already mentioned how they literally sent me the wrong manual for my table that initially made it rather difficult to put it together, so I know they aren't exactly great with minor details.Does this give you any pause to the rest of VPI’s company gestalt?
