Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Oh I know. It's funny because they aren't really traditionally the style I prefer, however every single time I see them in person I swoon. Either the 2s or the 3s... But neither if them would work in my current room. I'm only sitting 9 feet away from the speakers and they're jammed into the corner of the room. I would need to change rooms to the basement, if I could figure out a way to make it work with the current very large L shaped couch which in hindsight was probably a very bad purchase when taking into account the potential thought of moving listening rooms...
Why not consider the 1’s as you have a small room, a subwoofer, and an AVR with bass management?

Or the QLN Prestige 1 (stand mount) or 3 (small tower with a huge soundstage). They come in wood or satin white.

Leaning towards buying this bad Larry: Corridor Media Media Console 8173

HOWEVER, until I move it would be a liiiiiiitle too wide for the space I'm in. It fits along the wall, but would creep up behind both of my speakers a little bit. The speakers themselves wouldn't need to move so I'm not overly worried about that, it's more that I'm worried about how it could impact sound. They're front ported so it shouldn't be an issue, but just running it by folks: if you had this (or any) credenza with your speakers butts an inch or so away from said crednza, maybe a couple of inches or so of "overlap," would you foresee any sound issues?

You might also be happy to note the Degritter mkii was chosen as the current Stereophile magazine accessory of the year. Worth your travails to get where you are now. 👍👍
Oh, now that it's functioning again I'm very happy. In fact I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of dirt in the filter after cleaning 50 already ultrasonically cleaned records with the new fluid. It's definitely doing a better job than the original stuff.

This is a very reasonable suggestion that I will wholesale reject with every fiber of my being because the Sopras have been on my lottery list ever since I discovered they existed and just like some asshole who installed the 6 foot tall 700 lb Focal Grande Utopias in a 10 by 12 room I will one day have a comically large system in a comically small room that is in no way overcompensating for something or trying in vain to fill that hollow pit where my soul is supposed to be.

Broken storm trooper looks way cooler anyhow.

That sounds …. Reasonable?

Ah, f’ it. About 12 years ago I fell hard for the Rockport Arrakis speakers. A) they sound awesome, b) they look awesome, and MOST importantly c) as a lifelong Frank Herbert fan, they have the coolest name of any speaker, ever, anywhere in the universe.

But, they’re huge, cost $170,000 USD in 2012, and my wife would slowly burn me over a pit if I tried to buy them. But we can dream.

Those are awesome.

I bet they'd look great jammed into the corners of my 9 by 12 listening space.

ADDED TO THE LIST

Audiophile dreams, the stuff we are made of.

Going over to Carl’s soon to listen to the Clarisys Auditorium speakers that took him over a month to get situated to his listening satisfaction. $150k speakers should set themselves up, imo.

They're modeled after Leto II.
