Everything Video Games!

I should clarify - all internal and external dialogue is voiced, but there is still some text that is not, so it's sensible to see whether it's a manageable size on your setup.
My eyes are fine and I have a decent sized TV, so I'm not SUPER worried. I've cleared out my gaming schedule to prepare for it over the last month so I'm alright bought in.

I just find games that are optimized for PC that use a lot of text don't translate super well to consoles (Divinity Original Sin 2 comes to mind)

I envy your first play through!

Decided to spring for a Switch Lite which will arrive on Friday. I’m aware of the limitations for some games on the Lite, but anyone have recommendations? Must haves?

I’m always interested in the following:
  • Anything Mario
  • Any “classics” (Zelda, Crash, etc)
  • Open world games
  • World building (e.g. SimCity or Rollercoaster Tycoon types)
  • Sports

Better hurry if you want Mario 3D all stars. Galaxy might be a little frustrating for star bits without the joy cons though.

Holy crap, Disco Elysium. This game was written FOR me. I'm dying. I was laughing so much I was afraid I was going to wake my wife up. A few bugs on PS5 but Jesus this is so up my alley I'm actually a little frightened.
Possibly my favorite gaming experience of the last decade, alongside Breath of the Wild. What's incredible is that you will likely only see a fraction of what's been written on any given playthrough, since so much is gated behind your various personality attributes, but you will never feel as though your playthrough is incomplete.

It's kind of a staggering feat of game writing.

That's my only issue right now, I'm so enjoying the dialogue that instead of picking a path for a conversation, I'm asking everything because I want to hear the responses.

Looks like Best Buy at least still has the cartridge. It seems like if you make or have a nintendo account you should be able to buy digital as well but I'm not positive.
Yeah, you can order a physical copy anywhere you can find one, or you can log onto the eshop with your nintendo account in your browser and buy it there.

Be careful! It's possible to end conversations this way and not be able to return to them!

I would have sprung for the full switch, I almost never use the portable switch, but it's still a good console alone.

  • Zelda BOTW
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate (may be hard without the joycons/pro controller)
  • Mario Galaxy
  • Pikmin 3
  • Luigi's Mansion 3
  • Mario Kart 8
Also some non-Nintendo specific titles that may play well with the limited controller on the Lite
  • Ori and the Blind Forest
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps
  • Hollow Knight

The Switch is the ultimate 'playing-full-fat-games-on-the-couch-while-the-wife-watches-Gossip-Girl' console.

LOL it's actually the other way around for me while my girlfriend plays sims on her laptop :ROFLMAO:

I do occasionally use it portable on my exercise bike. I play a lot of the classic Nintendo games handheld since it works well for that.

@Melt Face Molly Drop you'll want to get a Nintendo Online membership for the digital games alone. There's loads of classic Nintendo and Super Nintendo games you can play for free for $20/year. Classic Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, pretty much anything you could want to play.

Yup, this is exactly how I saw it play out in my head. Plus, I’ve been seeing the rumblings of an updated system later this year and figured I’d see how I like this with the intent of upgrading down the line. For whatever reason, my motivation to play a game on a giant TV has dwindled in years. I get so impatient for some reason.
