Everything Video Games!

Yup, this is exactly how I saw it play out in my head. Plus, I’ve been seeing the rumblings of an updated system later this year and figured I’d see how I like this with the intent of upgrading down the line. For whatever reason, my motivation to play a game on a giant TV has dwindled in years. I get so impatient for some reason.
I like playing on the TV, but there is no overstating how great it is to be able to just walk over and pop the system out and continue playing seamlessly. Take it to work for lunch breaks, take it on vacation to burn through an RPG, whatever. It's great.

It's very hard to go back to a stationary console that's not a PC.

Holy crap, Disco Elysium. This game was written FOR me. I'm dying. I was laughing so much I was afraid I was going to wake my wife up. A few bugs on PS5 but Jesus this is so up my alley I'm actually a little frightened.

Possibly my favorite gaming experience of the last decade, alongside Breath of the Wild. What's incredible is that you will likely only see a fraction of what's been written on any given playthrough, since so much is gated behind your various personality attributes, but you will never feel as though your playthrough is incomplete.

It's kind of a staggering feat of game writing.

That's my only issue right now, I'm so enjoying the dialogue that instead of picking a path for a conversation, I'm asking everything because I want to hear the responses.

I was just looking at this game on Steam...I think I'll pick it up but I gotta see if Outriders will hold my attention. It doesn't open up for PC players until 9 AM tomorrow.

Very excited for Outriders as well! The demo was fantastic, I'm already very engaged with the story! Hope my copy actually shows up tomorrow!

Outriders is coming out day one with gamepass on Xbox so I’ll give it a go!

Yeah...I played the demo a lot - still never got a legendary weapon. But I did a last farm / playthrough of the whole thing again and have my character ready to go.

Since all the build guides say to play as anything but the Pyromancer, that's what I'm going with....as that's the only one I got. I have a feeling late/end game they will be a very good class to have.

ugh...9 AM launch on Steam for Outriders - and it doesn't launch after pre-loading it yesterday.

Have to close and re-open Steam for it to "unpack" Outriders. Which is taking as long as downloading it did.

Can a DLC for a 10+ year old game be game of the year? Played a few hours of Binding of Isaac: Repentance last night. For those who don't follow my occasional updates, I have 1300 or so hours up through Afterbirth+. This DLC dropped so much new stuff, and so many tiny little tweaks to existing things, that I feel like a kid at Christmas. Yes, everything was random before, but with the amount of time I put in, I kind of knew what to expect each run. That's all out the window for the most part now. Tons of new rooms, new enemies, new items, new timings (many existing enemies shoot and move differently). I'm having a blast. There's also 234 new achievements, so here's to the next 1300 hours!

Surprised to hear praise for Outriders. I thought the demo was pretty bland, clunky, unbalanced. I know they encourage you to run with a team, but not everyone can or wants to play that way.

Nothing about is particularly good except the abilities and the loot/build meta. And those are the two most important things in this genre, so on the balance, I dig it.

The powers that be should rename this thread “ @Fillip J Phry ‘s Binding of Isaac’s Addiction Thread.”

As for my Witcher 3 news, I have just finished the Hearts of Stone expansion and started the main quest for the Blood and Wine expansion. I’m about 140 hours in.

At this rate, I’ll be close to 180 hours by the time I’m done with my first playthrough. Not sure I’ll be able to fire up an NG+ at that point; even witchers need a break!

(Who am I kidding, I’ll definitely be starting an NG+ right away.)

yeah....I'm a solo player in games like this. So far the full game isn't too bad. The story is keeping me engaged and once out of the demo the loot does start scaling up a bit.

I was just impressed that they came out with an actual demo that could be farmed and also released a few patches for it.

Yeah, I played through the whole demo as a Pyro, had to drop the world to tier 2 to beat the last boss as there was hardly any way for me to heal myself. The story seems interesting, if you play as a fella you're just basically Jason Momoa. It looks like late game stuff will get a lot more interesting. I wasn't super impressed with the loot, everything looks the same.

I should have tried it with a controller, though. Keyboard and Mouse was terrible, having to reach up to hit the number buttons in a battle I kept hitting the wrong things.

I picked Pyromancer blindly the day the demo launched. I think there's some very powerful builds under it's skill tree, so I'm going to push to the end as Pyromancer! Still waiting for my copy to show up, can't wait to play!
