PC gaming friends: would buying this "Random Gaming PC" deal from Woot be a smart decision or a stupid decision as a person who is kind of itching for a new console/new games and isn't willing to go full-bore on building his own gaming PC?

If you're not looking to throw down as much as a new console is, they might still be doing that Xbox subscription deal where you get one of the new Xboxes and the game pass and it works out to like $36 a month (I think) for 24 months, then you can cancel the game pass and keep the Xbox if you want.

I'm trying to get the Platinum Trophy in Kena: Bride of Sprits. One of my fav games.
To do this I need to know beat the game in "Master" difficulty mode.

I'm finding this difficulty to be nearly impossible for me. Every encounter I have had so far has took around 50 attempts and 4 hours to get passed. It's not even enjoyable. The the reviewers insist the difficulty rating is only 7/10 and that souls games are harder. It should take me 15 to 25 hours to beat under master difficulty mode. Well guess what, I am there hours wise in the first area of the map...

I remember seeing that requirement and knew I wouldn’t platinum that game. Second boss was a struggle on normal difficulty, no way I was dealing with that on a harder difficulty. Trophy requirements like that are the worst and shouldn’t exist.

I'm at the first boss in Taro's Tree. This is where I'm stuck currently. Handling one of the big bad bosses on my own was near impossible at this difficulty. Now I'm being swarmed by minions at the same time.

Yup, sucks, and really wish this wasn't part of the trophy requirements.

have you done a quest to get the Pureblood Knight's Medal? It'll allow you to go underground and you can snipe a bird-like enemy from a site of grace. If you wear the scarab talisman you get about 13,000 runes each time you kill it.

Ok this helped immensely; I bumped myself up eight or so levels, and while I’m still not cracking the boss, I’m getting closer! Feels weird to be ~110 hours into a game and suddenly blocked.

What level are you currently? I couldn’t beat Rennala early on just because I was dumb and didn’t know how to upgrade my ashes. But I thought I was under-leveled so I ended up facing her at like level 90 after leveling up this way. I was definitely over leveled for the rest of the game but it wasn’t too easy. For the final boss I got so close one time then failed over and over. I ended up using a combination of attacks I never use because it worked so much better.

I’m at level 137, and have advanced to struggling with the final boss. I’ve made it to phase 2 a small handful of times, but it’s tough, and I have to summon online to get very far (which is annoying, as my slow connection causes few golden runes to show, and when they do someone else usually grabs the summon before I can).

I was over 200 when I finally beat the boss. I think I first attempted it around 190. I didn't really get to that level until way later on because there were a few incantations and weapons that needed me to have higher Arcane and a couple of other skills. I believe there was a sword that helped me beat Malenia otherwise I had first attempted that boss at like 160~

this is how I basically did it, if you're curious, which was VERY different than my normal build.

My second attempt of this evening I managed to kill it with my regular skills/build, however I died as it died so it didn’t count. I then proceeded to fail a bunch of times before finding someone mention using Meteorite of Astel with a mixed physick that gives you unlimited FP on the Elden Beast. Doing that immediately after spawning behind him got him down to about half.

Basically this but nowhere close to as much damage.

Black Knife Tiche is the real MVP with their slash move that just sucks health over time. Basically just avoiding attacks while Black Knife Tiche is close enough to hit them and help out where I could. Rock Sling was also helpful because it travels a decent distance when Elden Beast is so far away.

This makes me feel better; I spent some time last night just revisiting areas I’d sped past, or bosses I’d been to underpowered to handle. I think I’ll just focus a bit on that for a while, maybe collect any weapons and spells I can use and still get my hands on.

There's tons of interesting side quests! I didn't do all of them myself but managed to clear all of the map to a decent extent. For that particular spell that helped me with the boss I had to get my Sorcery up to 55 and then used a talisman that increased Sorcery by 5 to be able to use it. So I was definitely over-leveled and didn't really want to respec since I liked my build and weapons. Even though some later areas were a little easier it's still really challenging in parts.

Going to give Dreamfall Chapters a try. It's on sale this weekend and less than $5 currently.

Elden Ring is driving me crazy. I can't make any progress. I'm like level 34 and can't win a battle worth anything. And I keep loosing all my runes before I can level up.
