Everything Video Games!

Any of y'all consider yourself video game "collectors," or know someone who is? I have a brand new, sealed copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Steelbook for Wii that I'm looking to part ways with.

Figured I'd ask around here before taking to Mercari, FB Marketplace or eBay! Happy to provide pics and details if needed!

Not in the sense of collecting sealed copies. But in games I really like I will purchase limited bundles. For example I bought the $200 and something limited bundle of Horizon Forbidden West that came with an art book, miniatures and what not. Does that count as collection as I for sure opened it?

I've been tempted by a number of big, weighty collector's editions in the past few years, but haven't actually bit. Last one I bought was for Fallout 4 way back in the day for the Pip-Boy arm attachment (that I subsequently never played with).

I miiiight splurge for Psychonauts 2 though (even though I own it digitally) because I love everything about that game.

Got an invite from Sony to buy a PS5 tomorrow. I had initially done this for my nephew but he ended up snagging one a couple weeks ago.

I mostly just play the Switch with my younger kids. Is there anything on PS5 that I really need to play?

If you never had a PS4 I would say there are more essential last gen or dual gen games than exclusive to PS5 or current gen only as there aren't a bunch of those yet. Depends on what games you're into of course.

Ratchet and Clank is fantastic and I really recommend checking out Astro's playroom. It comes with the system and is partially about introducing the new controller features but it's a great platformer that I really enjoyed.

You can get around this with the Cerulean Hidden Tear in your mix physick flask. Eliminates all FP requirements/consumption for 10 secs, so you can summon any spirit.
That's good advice. I really haven't been using much of the buff type things. I had the physick set to give me a strength buff and damage negation to tank a hit if I knew one was coming. Might try this out.

Haven't played much the past few days due to being sick, but I did try for a while yesterday while I was feeling slightly better. Manged to get to second phase 3 times, and one of those times I got her down to between half and 1/3 of her health. The jellyfish does do one thing well - the spray will often disrupt her attacks and pull aggro long enough for me to get a cheap hit. That being said, I've been sending it out in phase 1, so if it survives to phase 2, she immediately gets a health buff and usually kills it right away. Need to get to phase 2 consistently now, I've figured out good opportunities for damage in phase one, but it seems some of of those attacks either don't happen, or she combos into something else immediately instead of a small delay, like with her wide slash/jump slash attack. Making progress! I also realized I could dual wield Godrick's Axe and the Rusty Anchor, awesome to see my early game weapon back to compliment my late game weapon. I was using the Axe you get from the Deer boss remembrance, but the anchor has a little more damage.

I was visiting my parents recently and found my old Gameboy Color. It still works but I didn't find any games with it. I think my games would probably be with my Gameboy Advance if I could have found that somewhere since the Gameboy/Gameboy color games still play on Advance.

So I can actually use it, I just bought Pokemon Blue off ebay. There's fakes out there for like $15 each, but I think this one is legit. I only ever played Red, my sister had Blue (so we could trade and get all the Pokemon). I was thinking of grabbing Silver later on (I only played Gold and my sister had Silver) and maybe Pokemon Yellow or Crystal (I've never played Crystal). I may also try Links Awakening DX, Oracle of Seasons/Ages but again, I've never played any of those Legend of Zelda games. Are they any good? They all go for around $30-$50~ on ebay depending on the seller/condition.

Oracle of ages/seasons are great but tbh you can get them on the 3DS eshop for like $5.

And the thing with those old pokemon games, fair warning, is that a lot of the save batteries are dying in the cartridge and need to be replaced. Don't think it's too intensive, but jsyk!

yeah I made sure that this one in particular stated that it works and saved, but eBay is a crapshoot with what's advertised and what you get. 🤞 I sold my 3DS like 5 years ago but would rather play the OG way anyways. I also recall there being something about Switch having Gameboy games on it sometime soon but that will probably be in that new subscription service that I don't want to pay for.

Malenia is dead! @epyon415 thanks for the advice on the Cerulean Tear, Black Knife Tiche turned the tide of this fight. I wish Xbox would have let me record more after the fact, but here's a minutes worth. It grabbed from the moment I thought this fight was over, to the stagger that won the day.

I wish I could fight her again, so I could learn to do phase 2 a bit better. I could solo the first phase, but my speed killed me after that.

EDIT: updating clip to direct link.
