Everything Video Games!

Well, here we are. I've finally made it through the Haligtree area to Melenia's lair. I was starting to think I'd never find it, but then I got to the lift and recognized the area from videosI've seen. Man, the path there was fun with the absolute most sarcasm I can add to that word. Did not have a fun time in this area. I could have just ran through most, but I like to explore, and sadly most of what I found was deaths that felt cheap. I attempted Melenia once just to see what it was like (had to start working). I lost as expected, but discovered that I can stagger her attacks pretty easily, at least for first phase. I did feel like I was moving slower than normal, or at least my rolls felt slower. Is this expected?
I remember using Black Knife Tiche as a summons and Swarm of Flies. I think I also had tracked down a sword that inflicts bleed, one of the ones you get from the old lady in round table hold when you bring her Rememberances but I didn’t really need it. The key thing is that she heals when you get hit or block so getting her stuck on a summons or just dodging and using ranged attacks is key.

I don't know if I could betray my best friend Jellyfish and summon anything else. That being said I'll probably be more open to that idea after a bunch of deaths.
No, there isn’t any mechanic that would cause this. Check your loadout and make sure you’re not at “heavy load”.
I've been medium load pretty much the whole game. Could just be I felt slower in response to her being much faster than everything else in the area.

Since you seem to be playing a pretty tanky character like I did, an upgraded Mimic Tear is also helpful for distracting her, if you consider betraying jellyfish that is.

Two weeks before Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Until then I can:

1. Do a “quick” run through XC2 on New Game Plus;
2. Get Torna and try to beat it in less than 14 days;
3. Keep dicking around in my regular XC2 file trying to max out my blades; or
4. Read a book.

Decisions, decisions…

I kind of alternated with Black Knife Tiche and Mimic Tear throughout the game. Different ones worked better depending on the boss too.
mimic is great especially if your build is strong. Several fights it pretty much did all the work.
Tiche was my go to for the last 3-4 bosses I had left including Melania. Tiche is a bully…and I LOVE IT 😈

4 is not the correct answer 😜

I was going to try Tiche, but realized I only have 82 FP, and Tiche requires 132. Debating on if I want to go for the many levels required for that, or just forge ahead. I did try out jellyfish, and it does a pretty good job of disrupting attacks, as well as tanking a few waterfowls. Speaking of that attack, I watched a video on how to dodge it, and discovered I was doing it backwards. They showed running away from part one, dodging into and past 2, and then going opposite of 3. Rare instance where rolling at a jump in a From Soft game doesn't work.

I did switch to dual wielding, and that seems to be going better. I deal significantly more damage this way and seem to stagger or disrupt more of her attacks. One drawback is it's slower and jump attacking seems to have less range

Played about an hour and half of Crash Bandicoot 4 today. That's about all I could take for one sitting. I like the game, but it gets frustrating and to repetitive playing straight through. I need some time to recover and then get back into it.

I moved onto playing Returnal now. Just started this game and liking it so far.

From one repetitive game to a game that's literally about repetition. Classic! (Love Returnal! still haven't made it past biome 2 though.)

Any of y'all consider yourself video game "collectors," or know someone who is? I have a brand new, sealed copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Steelbook for Wii that I'm looking to part ways with.

Figured I'd ask around here before taking to Mercari, FB Marketplace or eBay! Happy to provide pics and details if needed!
