Everything Video Games!

EA has announced that they are going to digital only games in several European Countries such as Germany and Austria. EA cited declining sales of physical media for this decision.

Do we expect this trend to spread to other countries or developers?
I mean Modern Warfare 2 physical copies only has 70mb of data on the disc... you're buying a key authenticator and need to download the entire game.

the trend is upon us...

I played through it on Stadia. I know it didn't live up to the promised hype but I still really enjoyed the game

Good to hear because I just bought it for when I wrap Ghosts of Tsushima which I think I'm 80% done with (if you don't include the DLC island).

Been chipping away at it since beating BotW in July while sprinkling in a replay of Bioshock and Neon White.

Hoping Forbidden West gets a price drop on Black Friday.

Finished the main story of God of War (2018) on my lunch break. Took a little over 40 hours to complete, and I still only have 37% of achievements. So I guess there is still a lot of exploring left to do.

Oh?

February 22, 2023 and $550
$750 in Canada, that's gunna be a tough sell.

Yet it's only a third the cost of the new Meta Quest, and likely a fourth of the Apple headset which is expected to be announced in the next few months. I was actually worried this would have landed in that $750 to $1,000 USD ballpark.

Thats also the cost WITHOUT any games. And it's not backwards compatible and no Half Life Alyx (yet). I was considering it, but at that price I dunno. Unlikely.

Aren't those headsets wireless though?

Yes? One would assume the Apple headset to be, but with no announcement made to date we are just going by rumors that it's going to have a M2 or M3 in it.

The PS VR2, while not wireless, has a higher resolution display and hire refresh rate than the new Meta Quest. So, it would for sure provide a better gaming experience.

If someone figures out how to hack PSVR to work on a PC, I’d buy one in a heartbeat. The tech is amazing for the price.

Well, you could hook up the original PS VR to a PC.

So maybe you will be able to out of the box. I'm sure more info will be available soon.
