Everything Video Games!

Got on again late this morning - less than a minute in the queue.

I think this will be a really great game...glad I pre-ordered.

I have a 2060 and play at 1080p / Medium settings and get some studders when going to new areas.

Not sure I'm a fan of the online aspect of it. I get playing with friends, but you also get random users coming around sometimes, too.
I doubt they'll change anything, but I would want a complete single player "offline" gameplay. I don't mind having to log-in, but I don't like random people joining in.

Yesterday the queue at round 12:30 pm eastern when I tried to connect was 92 minutes. Only took 2 minutes this morning.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this game or if I would like it. I am enjoying though and will likely pick it up. They keep advertising pre-order now and sale on a splash screen that pops up (likely because I have open beta access through KFC), but the pre-order button goes to a playstation store "content not found" error. Soo... Hopefully they fix that soon. Be nice if they offered a disctount. to beta testers.

So is this related to the open beta, or the KFC version specifically. But it looks like many quests and areas of the map "is not available in this version of the game".

I hope buying the game and getting it the final version unlocks everything without having to start over.

They have said that the beta doesn't cross over to the full game, so we'll have to do it all over.

It's pretty big as it is for a beta - I'm level 21 playing as a Rogue. So far I'm having a good time with it.

The parts that aren't available look to be Act 2 and 3 stuff - I believe the beta is only Act 1 quests.

Okay I realize I'm late to the party here but I just started Doom Eternal on PS5 and holy hell this is the most metal video game I've ever played. Like, it's like a giant metal wet dream. It's so metal that I literally picked up a death metal record collectible in game while listening to different death metal in game while chainsawing a demon in half while a dragon flew over my head and a ghost wolf howled at me. Like, it rules so hard.

This part. Like I want a “private game” setting like the last one had that let you decide who gets in. I was all set to preorder and hop in, but this part might be a dealbreaker. I hate randos.

i dont know if anyone else in here bought the new fire emblem game that came out in January, but I did, and i finished my first playthrough last night

easily the best FE game gameplay-wise imo. really enjoyed it. story’s cheesy, but gameplay more than makes up for it

That game is switch only right? I remember seeing it on one of the Nintendo Directs and was very interested in it.

yea, switch exclusive!! it was apparently supposed to come out like two years ago as a celebration of the series’s 30th anniversary but was delayed until now. even though it calls back to all the previous entries with returning characters and maps, i think this is actually the best starting point now for fire emblem games

That’s good to know. I probably won’t pick it up anytime soon, as I still have a sealed copy of Tactics Ogre waiting for me, plus the upcoming Zelda and Hogwarts games. I’m currently playing Torna for the first time. I obviously am loving it, though I do miss the “the fate of the world is in our hands” stakes of the main series.

Fun fact: during the opening cinematic scene and right after the narrator has said the words, "Rip and tear until it is done", hit play on Steely Dan's Aja and it syncs up perfectly.

Also, yea, stupidly fun games the last couple of Dooms.

It seems to happen in the towns and certain areas of the world where you see the other random players. These areas seems to be a raid area for a huge boss - but I haven't fought it yet....or areas where co-op is encouraged.

I watched a video on it and it was a good 15 minutes or so for a large handful of level 25 players to kill it. I'm not a fan of these kind of battles in games.

I'd just like to see a full single player game and not have other users running around my screen.

I did a lot of exploring and side quests so far in Diablo IV. I'm at level 22 currently and found a boss battle with one of Lilith's Captains. Can't come close to beating him, so I guess I need to level up to 25 and try again.

That said, this open beta ends at 3:00pm PDT tomorrow. And then Next weekend there is another open beta. So I guess I'll save that task for next weekend and get more enjoyment out of the Open Beta.

Had a blast going through Deathloop over the last few weeks. Finished the Colt storyline last night.

Also, the original music was pretty fun. Especially that "Revenant" song. So catchy! "I'm a revenant baby, and I'll be back".

Nice...I thought it was ending at midnight tonight...may have to get on and play some more.

I started that game, played for an hour or 2 and forgot about it. I remember it being fun, but a week away from the game and something else got my attention.

I'll get back to it eventually.

I finished Act 1 and then had a bit of killing to do to get up to level 25. I'm good there as I'll have to do it all over again. I may get on the next beta to see how Necro and Druid play, but I usually never play those.

finally got a shipping notice this morning for the Miyoo Mini Plus I pre-ordered which is exciting. hopefully it'll arrive before the end of the month.

So the multiplayer/PVP doesn’t feel like a dealbreaker?

I didn't understand the multiplayer/PVP? Is it supposed to be geared towards playing with your friends as a team, or randos or both?

On Sunday I noticed random other players in the world. Didn't see any on Friday or Saturday. They helped clear a ruin of bad guys, and it seems like really only near that area did I see them mostly. Other then once in a while on a random path or in a village. But never at any key battles or as help to quests.

Interesting. As much stuff as they’re cribbing from WoW (yes I know which cribbed from other stuff) I wonder if they won’t have done sort of grouping/party option. The PVP stuff I understand is limited to certain zones?

I may have to buy a chicken sammie to check this out before I splash out for the preorder. Maybe.
