Everything Video Games!

look i LOVE point and click games (and im including phoenix wright as a point and click because in many ways it is), but the one thing i hate is how whenever i get even the SLIGHTEST bit stuck on them i go to a walkthrough and then never think for the rest of the game
Totally agree! Have you played Botanicula? I looooved that one because the problem-solving was intuitive. (And the art style and sound design were DELIGHTFUL.) Basically, you control a ragtag group of seedlings, each with a special ability, and swap the leader of your group to bypass puzzles.

you know i have had that game for MULTIPLE years and still haven't played it

possibly because it runs on flash

Got a question for everyone who played Final Fantasy XV. Did you play the DLC's, and if so, are they worth the time? I saw on the achievement guides each episode takes 2-4 hours. I finished the game this weekend, and did some of the post game stuff. I beat the first two bonus dungeons, the Adamantoise, the Melusine, and did the Pitioss Ruins. The bonus dungeons seem a bit boring to me, and the Pitioss ruins wore me down a lot. I've put over 110 hours into the game, and I'm kind of ready to move on, but if the DLC's are worth it, I'll do them first

Machinarium, by the same devs, is also great.

I literally had to reference a step-by-step walkthrough for that one, so I found it infuriating. Love the art style, though.

Hoping their next release, Creaks, strikes a good balance with the gameplay.

It was challenging, but I never had to look up a solution. I think it hit a sweet spot for me in terms of difficulty.

Maybe I’m on the same wavelength as the devs.

I used to love point and clicks. The old Lucas Art and Sierra games were so good. My faves were Kings Quest, Full Throttle, and The Dig. I also really enjoyed the Broken Sword games.

But these days I feel like an idiot trying to play these games. I can't figure out the puzzles, so I look up a tip and I feel stupid.I try not to look up too many tips, but once I break that seal, it's easier and easier.

Have you guys played Return of the Obra Dinn? It's kind of like a point and click/logic puzzle mystery/detective game and I absolutely loved it. I only got kinda stuck one time but figured it out eventually. Highly recommended.

I just finished watching Super Eyepatch Wolf's VERY critical video of FFXV, and I'm a little bummed out. While I enjoyed the game overall, his video brought a condensed clarity and words I couldn't find to the problems I had with the game. It also answered the question I asked about the DLC earlier. However, not only do I need to play the DLC's, but I also need to watch the movie I forgot about that came out before the game initially released, AND watch a 6 part anime that all fill in the gaps and back story to the game.

I only played the online Comrades dlc which they shutdown and turned into a stand alone game. Thought it was really fun though they stopped supporting it really quick. Had a lot of potential. I do need to go back and try the rest of the dlc.

I'm not sure how Episode Ardyn ties in, but the Prompto, Ignus, and Gladio Episodes show what each is up to when Noct is dealing with the crystal. Super Eyepatch Wolf said Prompto's in particular is really good.

finally playing GTA V for the first time... and yes it is as usually really good

i hope for GTA VI they do another vice city world, we got 2 san andreas and 2 liberty city so we need one more based in miami

Got tired of waiting to find a regular Switch, so I bit the bullet and bough a turquoise Lite. I knew about the smaller size and lack of HD rumble going in, but those things aren't bugging me as much as I thought they might. The screens not THAT much smaller, unless the newer model Switches are bigger than the originals. Battery life is good, and I'm not sure if Animal Crossing uses the rumble, but I don't notice it not being there. My only real concern is the drift issue. It's easy enough to replace the joysticks yourself on the Joycons, but I'm not sure how that factors in on the Lite.

Congrats, you're going to love it!

Animal Crossing uses the rumble pretty minimally, when fish bite/catch a fish, hit a rock with shovel, hit a tree with an axe, etc... it may use it for other subtle things like villager reactions but you're not missing much.

Looks like they use the same analog sticks, so you should be able to replace them if you need to. You'll just have to take the whole case apart instead of individual joycons, but it looks simple.
