A gigantic thanks to @JonnyH for giving me and the SO tickets for tonight’s Godspeed You! Black Emperor show in Tacoma. They were brilliant. My Girlfriend was relieved to discover they were a Post-Rock outfit as opposed to some sort of black metal band as was her initial assumption based solely on their name. We had a blast and is customary I felt like I should grab some wax on our way out. I went with F# A# ●● because it was the first GY!BE Album I ever owned (but on CD). When I got it home I was amazed at all the extras that came with it (there was even a smashed coin).

A HUGE thanks to @girlnevergoesout for this incredible record! Original mono press of Adore by The Smashing Pumpkins, released in 1998. She gave me a really great deal on this, and it looks beautiful! The jacket is a surprisingly sturdy tip-on gatefold. Really excited to have this in my collection!

Went to Thing and got my vinyl signed. Never been able to get stuff autographed at festivals but it was such a positive vibe and the crowds weren’t overwhelming. Been trying to get that De La catalog personalized for ages. Of the many I have signed that Stakes is High and 3 feet records are grails for me.

This is amazing. Although, I used to work for a label and did a lot of meet and greets, so my first instinct was to say, “Hey! Only one signed item per person!!”

De La has been around and has always preached that positive vibe. I was hanging out side of the stage where nobody was before the show. Saw their bus pull up and just held an album over the fence. Plug two came by and we chatted for a few minutes. Passed my stack under the barrier and said sign whatever he wanted. He signed it all and then sent plug one over. Man makes me really miss those good golden hip hop leaders who are super intelligent, know how to move a crowd, and aren’t too big to be real with old heads. Glad I took my record bag.
