My Colemine/Karma Chief Delivery

Ghost Funk Orchestra - A Song For Paul
The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble - Build Bridges
Neal Francis - Changes

I requested to have them all packaged together since they all dropped within a month of each other but I was surprised that my order was sent out so early since the latter two releases don’t drop until the last week of September.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love

These were a couple Amazon deals. As has been suggested, both are good quality reissues. I was happy to snag ‘em both for around $25.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark Grabs

OMD - Dazzle Ships
OMD - Architecture & Morality
OMD - Junk Culture

Both my LRS and HPB’s were having 20% off sales and I copped a few deals. All three are original US presses and in VG+ condition. Strangely enough they weren’t found at the same shop. Dazzle Ship was at my LRS and the other two were picked up as HPB.

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Angel Olsen - My Woman
The Radio Dept. - I Don’t Need Love, I’v Got My Band

A few more local deals along with the mail order clear variant of the newly issued Radio Dept. comp.

Mötley Crüe - Home Sweet Home
New Kids On The Block - Hangin’ Tough

Let us know how that Neal Francis sounds. I am very jealous right now. :)

The Modern Jazz Quartet ‎– Play The Music Of John Lewis (Esquire, 1957 First US pressing - 10")

A bit of an oddity here. So firstly its on the 'Esquire' label. They were a british jazz label that were the first to record modern jazz in the UK. They leased the rights to Charlie Parker Dial recordings and most of the Prestige catalogue in the UK. Weirdly, they are really sought after and I have even seen them go for more than the originals (im talking in the hundreds of pounds). This was a steal at £6 inc postage, and while im not familiar with the group, it includes some jazz greats such as Milt Jackson, Percy Heath, Kenny Clarke. The 'John Lewis' is the founder and musical director of the Modern Jazz Quartet, and a jazz pianist, composer and arranger.

Ah fantastic, I will certainly be checking him out after this!

I have just been digging deeper into the Esquire label, as it seems crazy to me that they sell for the amount they do, and have just stumbled upon a crazy coincidence. So here I am reading up on this label, which by all accounts used the exact same stampers as prestige (who would ship them over) and it turns out they were based in Mitcham (south-west London). The crazy part.......im 4 miles away from Mitcham and can see the district from my flat window
