And @s names who love jazzToo many crazy buyers around here
Kishi Bashi for 4euros? Whats going on, thats outrageously good!
Great pickups! Luckily my Amazon deliveries lately have been shipped in boxes like that but within the box, they have been inside of another mailer. Pretty wasteful though, but I re-use those mailers so at least get some use out of it...Man, not diggin this new style of shipping that Amazon is using recently (as seen in a few other posts). Record sitting on the bottom of the box with some paper sitting on top?
Thankfully Lou Donaldson arrived without damage. Not sure how it arrived without so much as a corner ding. Weird.
Thanks to @MikeH for posting that Reverb sale some time ago. Snagged that Jamila Woods - Legacy! Legacy!
Love it when people post about sales there, especially @Doctor_of_Jazz with the MM titles. Awesome to be part of such a helpful and caring community.Great pickups! Glad that Reverb sale worked out! I've been using it a little bit more lately. Some prices on used stuff are insane, but I did snag some MM pressings during one of their sales at 25% off which is a pretty nice savings.
I've seen numerous people comment specifically on their Mr. Shing-A-Ling being shipped like that (mine was, too) but for the most part I'm still getting a box within a box from Amazon.Man, not diggin this new style of shipping that Amazon is using recently (as seen in a few other posts). From the "Amazon Is Like A Box Of Chocolates, You Never Know What You're Gonna Get" department...
An LP shipped from Europe to North Carolina in a 28" X 20" mailer. To mega-mailer's credit, record looks good.

I’m just amazed at how it showed up with no corner bends or dings or any sort of damage at all. They sent me Takin’ Off the same way and every corner was bent pretty bad.I've seen numerous people comment specifically on their Mr. Shing-A-Ling being shipped like that (mine was, too) but for the most part I'm still getting a box within a box from Amazon.
A fantastic haul today! Going to save this stack for the weekend!
Tom Waits - Bone Machine (OG 1992 pressing on Island Records) - An original pressing of this has eluded me for far too long. Luckily, the charity 'British Heart Foundation' listed this on discogs and my bid of £30 won. I think it would have gone for significantly more (judging on the outrageous prices others have sold for on ebay - last og copy sold for £125) but they only added one photo and the listing was vague so it could have been a bootleg. So so so happy with this pick up!!
Duke Ellington & John Coltrane - S/T (OG 1963 Mono Pressing on Impulse! with Rudy Van Gelder stamp- A-30) - This one is quite a rarity, an original USA Mono pressing in beautiful shape. The vinyl is super clean without so much as a surface mark. The gatefold is in decent shape but with an unfortunate dint at the bottom corner. I have always preferred Ellington when he wasn't in a big band set up, so this is a real treat pairing him up with Coltrane (who apparently was blown away at even being asked to perform with Ellington) as part of a quartet.
Ashley Henry - Ashley Henry's 5ive (Jazz Re:Freshed, 2019 reissue) - Missed out on the first release in 2016 which now being listed at stupid prices (£150 on discogs ) and was ranting in the Jazz thread about how annoyed I was at being unable to find a copy when @Skalap pointed out that they had just put a load up on bandcamp!!! Came with some sweet stickers that was a nice touch.
Tom Waits - The Ghost of Saturday Night:KPFK Unplugged Radio Session, July 23, 1974 (Radio Looploop, 2019) - I have a couple of these KPFK/radio recordings now and they are an absolute tread just to hear Tom's radio patter. Hillarious when the interviewer just cant seem to keep up with his wit. Used the £5 off voucher so this cost a staggering £7
Shabaka And The Ancestors – Wisdom Of Elders (Brownswood Recordings, 2016) - Its a travesty that I have waited this long to pick this up really. Its a superb album that I have streamed a silly amount of times yet never got around to looking for a copy. Used a £5 voucher (big thanks @Dark Star Boogie for that!) on an already fantastic price.
