Finally got the Otis Mono box after "almost" buying it countless times.

Then one of my most nostalgia fueled Horror movies finally getting a proper Score release. Waxwork is getting me this year.

Dizzy Gillespie And His Orchestra - Afro (Norgran Records, 2022 VMP Classics Pressing)
Mu Session - Live at Mu 22nd of April 2022 (Ill Considered Music, 2022 First Numbered White Label Pressing)
Jazz Explosion - A Panorama Of Contemporary British Jazz (Columbia, 1969 First Pressing)
Mark Richardson & Frenesi Watson - Winter Sunshine (World Record Club, 1965 First Pressing)

Jazz heavy and heavy jazz this week. Can't wait to listen to the Gillespie but annoyingly my copy arrived banged up, seam split and a bend. I actually posted the Mu Session the other day and forgot when I took this pic, but its a fantastic contemporary live session from the guys in Ill Considered. The Jazz Explosion has been on my radar for years but I was holding off for a super clean copy. Finally, an obscure release titled 'Winter Sunshine' which features some killer British jazz musicians including Ronnie Ross, Bill Le Sage, and Spike Heatley to name a few.

Harold McNair Quartet - Harold McNair (RCA Victor, 1968 First Pressing)
The Stan Tracey Quartet – Jazz Suite: Inspired By Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood (Columbia, 1956 First Mono Pressing)
Tony Oxley - 4 Compositions For Sextet (CBS, 1970 First Pressing)
Derek Bailey - Solo Guitar (Incus, 1971 First Pressing)

One hell of a week for big-hitting British jazz as well. The Harold McNair is an album I just assumed that I couldn't find any time soon in decent condition so I lucked out here. Following that I was able to also get the Tony Oxley and Derek Bailey. Free jazz this far-out isn't always my go-to but these were both reasonable enough that it was worth getting. They are pretty damn 'out there' but bloody brilliant. The Stan Tracey is a double but, again, a hell of a deal that I thought would make a good trade.

Tony Kinsey - Thames Suite (Spotlite Records, 1977 First Signed Pressing)
Graham Collier Music - Symphony Of Scorpions (Mosaic Records, 1977 First Pressing)
John Lee Hooker - Driftin' Thru The Blues (Ember Records, 1966 First UK Mono Pressing)

Having just read a behemoth book on the Thames, I just had to get this cheapo release from Tony Kinsey that was written with the river as an inspiration. Bonus that it's signed by Kinsey as well! Adding to my ever-growing Graham Collier list is a later era release, and the seller threw in a freebie of John Lee Hooker as well.

Been looking forward to this package arriving, but timing out with the release of Andor means it'll still be at least another day before they play.

Hell yeah, I grabbed that Jazzberry Patch a couple (few?) weeks back, too! Haven't spun it yet though, it's stuck in my giant backlog pile. But that's one of those records that if it hadn't been reissued, I would've never owned due to rarity and cost.

This one's @nolalady's fault, and I'm thankful for it!

And these ones came nice and quick via Swiss Post...

Osibisa – Black Magic Night
Olatunji – Drums! Drums! Drums!

I far prefer the cover to the 1971 original pressings of the Olatunji album. Still, this '79 repress was available for a very nice price and I was getting the Osibisa to round out my collection of all their 70s releases so the double-up made sense for the shipping.

It was a very recent discovery for me. Like 5-10 minutes before ordering it recent. I love it and am grateful for the reissue leading me to discover it.

Nice find. A friend of mine was just showing me this, along with Affectionate Fink, and a handful of other rare British jazz albums he'd picked up for his shop recently.
Thanks! I got really lucky with it and actually have another McNair on its way to me!

Affectionate Fink is an absolute monster rarity, I would love to know what he plans on listing it for?

I took my friend to ATL to drop her off at the airport , then hit up the famous Wuxtery. I tore up their $3 CD section - of note is the Dylan SACD and the Pickett Japanese mono- and grabbed this Roach/Shepp live album, Japanese import Monk, and got this Flaming Lips box set just for one album in it. I bought so much shit they gave me a free t shirt. (Also if you need some Bellman cut Lips LPs hmu)
